I'm on the fence about it though. What we have here is a first time poster, though they've been lurking around the boards (or have another account) because they know of the wonderful story telling that our rumor mongers do. The card posted with no Illustrator name or number (though a white card with ab as the first two letters is probably #1).
Throw up some crappy scan and I might be more inclined to believe...less untrue?
This card might actually be legit, as it would be an absurdly good S/B card to use against DragonStorm while being too situation to use against aggro.
how is it too situational to use against aggro?
if your opponent attacks you, and you don't block...you can redirect all of the incoming damage back at your opponent
This card seems balance, the triple white in its mana cost is hard to get if you are running a multicolor deck even with all the duals you put, thus this card is certainly printable.
IF this card IS real then this card is the ultimate answer to Dragonstorm, Strom based decks, aggro decks, etc.
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?
#1 - Make it dumber
#2 - Give it protection from removal and counter?
#1 - DUMBER!
#2 - Add Timewalk?
#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
Without doubt the most disgustingly powerful anti aggro card I've seen in a long while. While I'm not one who usually doubts rumors, this one is a little iffy. Pulling one of these in limited would auto kill any attempt of an alpha strike and would make goblins wince in extended. Even if it's true, I don't like it. With 2 *** effects already, Porphyry nodes and more removal than I can remember, this is really pushing it against creature strategies.

I don't know about this. Seems a tad too powerful.
When I first saw it I saw it as 'oh, you're about to win? Actually, I am'. Another card that came to mind hat was similar to this idea was Reverse the Sands. Yeah, there a quite a few things dividing them, but when played to best effect it does a similar thing. My point is that that card was :6mana::symw::symw: and a Sorcery. This is :1mana::Symw::Symw::symw: and an instant.
Power level wise I say it's not real. I don't think it's terribly early for Lorwyn spoilers, but as said a few times--we don't know the next set yet and that contains all cards we've seen before.

Turn the Tables is what it reminds me of, and that costed a lot more and was a lot worse... and this specifically is not an effect that would ever see print, especially at 1WW, since it allows you to punish your opponent for things that should normally be penalties, like Burning Tree Shaman, as mentioned, etc.

Celebrating 3 years of open-minded acceptance, indispensable help, great advice, and incalculably-creative deck-design... Thanks for all the magic!
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
We've never had a spoil earlier than GenCon as far as I can remember. So unless this is some sneaky sneaky employee trying to get a jump on things... we'll have to wait for August. The wording of the post and the card have be believing "some young kid who's bored."
Absorb and Return 1WWW
Instant
All damage that sources you don't control would deal to you this turn is dealt to target player instead.
Personally, I like it. I've been hoping to see more triple color requirements in mono collored spells. What I think people often overlook is the difference in powerlevel from the wizards perspective of double -vs- triple color requirements. A double color requirement is often still useable in a 2 or even 3 color deck (especially with rav duals about still). but a triple color requirement is generally limited to mono-colored decks and hence often get a significant potential power boost. Heck, look at I think it's Dawn Elemental from scourge.
Also, as noted, is a nice answer to dragonstorm in a color nearly every other existing deck in type 2 plays.
As for the name, what should they have called it? Deflect? Reroute? Reverse Damage?
Usually the earliest complete card we get is the common "store preview" card. For Time Spiral, it was Errant Ephemeron. For Future Sight, it was Sprout Swarm. (I'm forgeting the Planar Chaos preview.) There's no way this is the official early preview because it's not common and it does not feature a new set mechanic or theme. Yes, I'm fairly confident that Lorwyn is not the "redirect damage" block!
That means this would have to be a leak from inside WotC. Odds of this happening are low, given the huge legal and personal career risks involved. At least leak something interesting if you're going to put your career on the line!
There's no reason to think this is real. We want to believe its real, because we want to get an early rumor, and the poster used the Future Sight story format we've been conditioned to trust. But when you strip that away you have:
1) An unproven poster
2) A card that makes no sense as a leak, because it doesn't show any block mechanics or themes
3) A generic card that could be designed for any block
4) No support from the proven rumor experts
We're only discussing it because it's plausible enough to want to believe. There's no corroborating evidence...
I find this really hard to believe, a Lorwyn spoiler this early, from a 1st time poster and a strong card with a horrible name and casting cost(triple mono color casting costs aren't all that common especially on 4cc or less white spells). I'm strongly inclined towards the fake.
EDIT: admittedly wizards might consider making something like this as a Dragonstorm(and other high or infinite damage combo's) hoser, but i highly doubt it.
I'd avoid "beats dstorm" early arguments since it's unknown if it will keep being so prominent after losing Gigadrowse, or if it will become nigh-umbeatable thanks to negation pact.
On the poster: I hope it is true because he's enjoying a rare trust for a first and early poster. Should he be fooling us, upcoming spoilers will be hard to follow due the sheer amount of "faaaake, n00b, lock" and similar responses.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

Not technically true, we had 3 real cards from Time Spiral before Guildpact had officially dropped. (Maybe Dessension)
Edit, Im not condoning this card though, I think its too powerful now that Ive had some time, Turn the Tables is the same thing, costs more and has a restriction placed on it.

What's gotten into people lately? First people are believing that 'Venserthenewplaneswalker' is Maro, when told by 'Venserthenewplaneswalker2,' without ever asking for why such a claim was made.
And now this, a completely random card that's too strong in an already strong anti-aggro format? This card won't see print, and people can quote me or w/e floats their boat if they want.

I remain optimistic until there's a reason not to believe.
This is nice, will potentially impact meta vs. Dragonstorm (though not any more than Wrath/Damnation against aggro), and supports the speculation that Lorwyn will swing back toward mono-color.

I was always an avid reader, and finally decided to pitch my 2 cents in. Expect a lot of posts from me as I work 8 hour days mon-fri and have internet access that entire time.
Never. This and Volcano Hellion would be an obvious and annoying 2 card win in standard. Or Burning Tree Shaman and any repeatable effect.
All damage that sources you don't control would deal to you this turn is dealt to target player instead.
I never say my opinion on whether a card is real or not. I just want to point out that they don't hand out merit badges for correctly calling "fake" the loudest. It's perfectly okay to put a notch on your score card in tasteful silence.

those were playtest cards... and if i remember correctly, they didn't even make it to print (well, especially after they were leaked)...
Typically though, GenCon is our USUAL first look at the art for the set, which is the first proof of anything outside of speculation or a random "next year's set will have a fantasy theme." type information.
We had the first look at Kamigawa art/info from Lotus Noir there in 04, The debut of the RAV animated trailer there in 05, and the large amount of art from TS last year... that's before we even see the store promo cards.
As has been stated, don't think Maro would post cards and chance his job, but what about a rash new intern who is eager to show off the card they just designed to fill a hole in LOR?

His original post did not have the "sources you control" part in it, he edited it to add that part after my post pointing out some combos with it... almost if he realized that without that line no one would believe it, because of its combo potential... highly suspicious behavior for a legitimate card spoiler, if you ask me.

Ok, so you just said that its BETTER then Turn the Tables and it costs LESS. It targets the player, its ALL damage being delt to you from all places, and its Cheaper.
Plus as stated, after the degenerate combo of Volcano Helion and this was pointed out, the OP came back and changed the card to make it so that combo didnt work anymore.
Plus the stupid story completely eliminates our ability to objectivly look at how he got it.
