a cool card. it seems to be quite good. decent stats and abilities for her mana cost. finisher potential and a cool ability that can be used for combos. but i can't really make a call if she can make it in constructed... maybe it can, in the right kind of deck...
Its not constructed playable for sure. But at the same time, its a limited bomb, so as a great limited specialist, I'm in love.

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
What a monster of a card. Without the vigilance, it'd be so-so, but that makes that ability automatic. On both yours and your opponents' creatures? It's absurd enough with your own Hierarchs, etc., but stealing your opponents' creatures with Mortify, permanently(no 'in play' clause on the Valkyrie, no end of turn, just...yours, and you dont even have to give up an attack)? It's a finisher on two levels for any sort of control deck with it. One of the best white flyers in a while, since Exalted I'd say. People are seriously underrating this, IMO.
P.S.-Valkyrie...prepared!

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
Maybe it is just me, but seeing the cards earlier today, I get a really sweet vibe from the rares of this set...alot of them are doing 'different' things.
This set will twist and shake things around, and I am sure that is what WoTC was trying to do.
Limited will be fun at least.

Definitely limited goodness. Constructed... we'll see. She won't be 'reanimating' anything, since she and the re-animated creature both need to be in play in the first place. In one of those WGB control decks, maybe... but they're pretty tight as they are, not sure how an extra 5CC creature will fit in them without pushing out the meat of the deck too... even so, I'm really liking the set so far!
When Kamigawa rotates out, BWG will need to fill a lot of spots (Kokusho, Yosei, KotNT, Ink-Eyes), so this is a welcome card, especially since those rarely run more than a few of each. This will combo very well with Loxodons and Vindicate Angels!

This kind of reminds me of Razia's card. . . look at the goods. . . I am proud to run Firemane Control. . . Coldsnap will be remembered throughout the ages. . .

There are several cards that are being overshadowed by Kamigawa dragons. The most notable is Skeletal Vampire, which I've seen showing up in a lot of Block decks.
About the card: yes, it's a huge limited bomb (but not jitte-level). Duh. In constructed, it largely depends. Aside from stealing the opponent's creatures and abusing sac effects, it is just a glorified regeneration ability. So the real constructed power lies in the former two cases. In general, debtor's knell largely does the same job in a safer form, so I'm not convinced.
This card has given me so many fun thoughts. Mortify= steal target creature with this in play. It ihas a good size for its cc. Its ability and its body combine to basically make it unblockable without a x/5 in play and with 2 of em in play even things that can kill it can't for very long. This lets you save 1 creature per turn. The elephant loves this card. Take kamigawa dragons to get revenge on the player that hit you with them in the first place.
I am 100% making a deck that can abuse this card I absolutely love it.

Every rarity gets good cards. That means that some mythic rares will be tournament quality as will some commons, some uncommons and some rares. My promise wasn't that mythic rares wouldn't get good cards but that we wouldn't limit the good cards to only being mythic rare.
Bear this in mind the next time a powerful mythic rare is spoiled

Does anyone else find the wording a little odd, or is it just me? It seems to be an activated ability that sets up a triggered ability. Awesome ability nonetheless.
Extremely powerful card. Very good stats for 6 mana AND is combotastic AND steals your opponent's creatures! Anyone who doesn't think this will make a splash in constructed needs to wake up for a second.
In other news, this card has got me excited, which is strange because I usually hate White. Don't forget that you have to target the creature BEFORE it hits the 'yard...I like what Anthony says here:

You've got a couple cards in hand and plenty of white (and/or red, and/or black) mana available. You're not showing anything else on the board that can stop a dragon…
…but you tap the Valkyrie, and target the dragon. Before it can even attack.
Then you sit there with a quiet smile on your face.
Folks, this is how dragons learn how to stay home. (Though I suppose it might try flying over that snake's head.)
It's interesting that she's a "Snow Creature - Angel"; we haven't seen anything that triggers off of the number of snow permanents you have, but between this and the Yeti, there's may be more going on with the supertype than just a new flavor of mana.
Yes, we've seen Scrying Strata (or whatever the translation turns out to be). That card alone should encourage deckbuilders to try for Mono-Snow.dec.
Nice stats for 6 mana, esp. for vigilance and flying.
O. btw, the combo between Kiki-Jiki and Sky Hussar got even cooler. It keeps those Hussars (Hussi) alive for more than a turn. Now you can survive even if you go up against...Kami of the False Hope. Yeah!
Its pretty bad together with Azorius Herald since you wont be paying the blue mana so it will die instantly.
Seriusly if you aint going to use it to steal your oppeonts creatures Gleancrawler is better (eg. attack with yosei, sac with damage on stack (to greater good or whatever) second main: play gleancrawler (since you should have tapped their blue/black mana (btw. white doesnt really matter vs this) it shouldnt be a problem to make it stay) and you got a pretty much hard lock - thats better then: play angel - hope it doesnt die the turn it gets into play or gets feathered - attack with the angel and yosei and sac yosei).

This card will be obscene in a WGB control.

The internet is like drugs, it can be alot of fun, but most people on it say really stupid stuff
Lez with yourself... Stellar!
IDK about this card... It's meh, so far ColdSnap has been disappointing... BRING ON SOME AWESOMENESS!

Hmm. It targets creatures, so does that mean we won't be fetching SSS for ourselves? Blast.

And the art is REALLY great. What I like is that the swords have half a hilt each... so she can put the two together to make a bigger sword!
Although it mistakenly has some Chinese styles, Kamigawa was supposed to be purely "Japanese".

Ergh, I think this card will see much more then casual only...

hard to build a deck around, or support her in a contructed environment. I think she's better as a limited bomb.
