Personally, I think this is the dumbest idea ever. But that's just me...

Yes, those are collectable Pro Player cards in Tournament packs. I think that's just horribly cheesy.
I guess it'll appeal to the baseball-collecting genre... Or likely not...
So what are you going to do with the player cards you get in your Ravnica Tournament packs? Are there any players you hope to open? Head over to the forums and let us know what you think.
i don't hope to open any Pro Player Cards. what a terrible idea this was. luckily, the cards make it worthwhile.
this isn't frigging baseball, Wizards. don't act like it is.
Hey, it's another card in my pack that someone might want. I don't want it, but if someone does, then it's more trade fodder. I'm always looking for trade fodder.

That has to be one of the worst ideas I've ever seen. It's encouragement to not go pro so you can avoid having a geeky playing card made with your image.
Thank god they're taking up a free slot instead of, say, a rare. =/
COnsidering that, I guess it can't really hurt. I know there are -some- people out there who want them, even if I think they're stupid as hell. (I may be just blidned by that particular picture of DeRosa, though...)

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, the wisdom to know the difference, and a ****ing chainsaw.
Whoever thought of this idea should be fired. At the very least, whoever gave the "okay" for this, should be questioned. I could think of a million better uses for the the card stock they used to print these on. Why not a random token for the forthcoming Ravnica tokens? Maybe a foil special land with alternate art from Ravnica? A textless spell? I could go on, but I'm sure you get my point.
With as negative of a response as this is getting, I should hope they stop doing these idiotic things after this. This is a huge joke... and I'm not laughing.
Seriously, what was wizards thinking? Not once have I cared about having something to remember a professional magic player I've never met- getting their likenesses on their own cards is more than enough. I would almost kill for that privelage. I am damn glad I broke up with my girlfriend before these came along, because this discussion would have just made me f***ing cry.
Damn you, wizards! Damn you all to hell!

Yeah, Yodafan's pretty much a EDH pro.

When I see these, I cry. It is painful to imagine any sort of player actually WANTING these piles... I suddenly never want to go pro. Ever. God, these are just painful to look at... where's another basic land? At least with those I might convince someone that Magic isn't AS nerdy as it seems... as opposed to the new level of nerdiness this creates. Who the hell came up with this idea?

Ok, honestly I can’t tell if you guys are being sarcastic or are really mad about this. I mean I really have to call BS on this, it seems like just a huge joke. I’m rather sure most of you got this but it seems not. But then again it’s typed so it’s hard to tell sarcasm. But really none of you think that they look so horribly photoshoped that they are a joke? Im sure at least some of you do but still…
edit: if these prove to be real i will eat my shoe. i will take pics and post, no joke.
I actually like the idea of Pro Player Cards, it may bring more people hoping to become well known for what they do to the game. I mean what little boy never dreamed of having thier own sports card? And now you can do it playing a game we all love.
Whoever thought of this idea should be fired. At the very least, whoever gave the "okay" for this, should be questioned.
If by 'questioned' you mean 'sent to the seventh sphere of Phyrexia to be tortured for all eternity', then I agree.

It will probably drive away new players. Magic used to have something called 'flavor'. Now it has Antonino De Rosa (who I had never heard of before today) sticking out his tongue and crossing his eyes.
Wizards has hired so many people from the Pro Tour that they're blinded to the fact that many (most?) Magic players think that the Pro Tour is a group of immature and Aspergery clowns.
It's all well and good that there are people out there who like Pro Tour coverage. They can read Wizards's site. But I *want* to ignore the fact that the pro players are out there. I don't want it shoved down my throat whenever I open a tournament pack in order to play a game that I like. Sometimes I try to convince friends who don't play Magic to join me in a game. Most of the battle consists of getting them to take the game seriously. "Yes, it's got strategy; no, it's not a ripoff collectible scheme like Pokemon" (though that can sometimes be debatable). Now when I get a possible fan to warily attend his first prerelease, he'll open his pack to find this kid, glowing in photoshopped white light, sticking his tongue out at him with all the in-your-face bombast of the frickin' Harlem Globetrotters. It's embarrassing to me, to the game, and to anyone on one of these cards.
I don't think they are that bad, they highlight the fact that if you want, you can make money playing this game, and add a sense of proffesionalism to being a pro. If they can print Pro Racing cards, why not Magic?

Yeah, a bit too nerdy...
These things will flop faster than Vanguard...
At least people played Vanguard...
At least people could play with vanguard...
These things are just filler trash...
I'd rather have supersized cards...
LMAO, and nice name.
