You have to admit though, those are pretty strong reasons. Wizards has stated repeatedly that they don't "do" trample in the Core Set, so we have no reason to believe that it should be in 9th quite yet.
Wizards flat-out stated that they removed Trample because it was too confusing, but, replaced it with the Thorn Elemental ability..which proved to be just as confusing. To me, this indicates that they're willing to return Trample..since removing it accomplished nothing.
And I think you're disregarding the Reserve List a bit too quickly. Wizards may break it occasionally, but for the most part, it's solid.
The point is that they DID do it. If it happened before(and it's really happened multiple times), you can't use the Reserved list as an argument since WotC themselves devalidated that argument in the past. If they did it before, there's no reason that they wouldn't do it again.
I asked as a community representative... I never impersonated a mod. I did point out that anything you tell me that's shareable will be given to R_E and nobody else, after all. Where do you see "mod" on my Salvation profile? This isn't Microsuck, after all...
I look forward to R_E's confirmation of your source's legitimacy.
I know. I did not say that you were a mod, only that you asked for privacy on behalf of the mods. However, I believe I've given you enough information to at least verify my source.
If this is a fake, I think we all have to admit that the creator should get something special for generating this much uproar. Maybe not banning, but instead given a title of BEST PHOTOSHOPPER EVER TO CLOG UP THE FORUM WITH 1000 REPLY POSTS!
One of the ask wizards had a question about trampling returning and the answer was that the "new trample" was too confusing and that trample would return in a core set

Attention all: The source is most likely legit, pending final confirmation from Rancored_Elf. We know the person who designed this poster is a horrid designer, and that the poster is most likely miscut.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
Interesting side note, i seem to remember a much huger thread discussing the pros and cons of the new card face back before 8th came out that had sumthing like 2000 posts on (mtg news before it got bad). So this is not a record yet.

The 8th edition ads that I remember seeing in inquest a few years ago were very similar to the poster. I do remember that they were black with very little aside from a central image. I can't remember if it was 10th anniversary or 8th ed or whatever but that was pretty much it plus a few cards. I remember Savannah lions.
It definately wasn't flashy but it was refined and to the point, much like this poster is.
Regarding the possibility of a magazine ad, my friend said that it would 'either be offset to the right (to allow for binding) or the fan would be reduced in size so you could see it all'.
So, if this is a finished product, it doesn't look like a magazine ad.
My personal opinion, though, is that I could see this as a magazine ad. If someone could find a recent Magic ad for comparison, that would be very useful.
I just finished reading through all of the posts:banghead: and decided that I should post too . Personally I hope this is real . If it's not "Mad Props" go out to the creator .

Well, they said they were 'considering' it, not that it was definitely going to happen.

That assumes that the poster is true, of course.
Now, something I will say for those in favor: this could easily have been dictated to the Art Director and Co. Meaning, if Hasbro is worried about sales, and decided to push 9th, you could easily have untalented hacks designing promotional stuff like this for them.
My friend thinks it is unlikely, though, with a promotional piece of this magnitude.
BTW, Annorax, are you saying that my source for my information is correct, or the source for the poster is? It's hard to say.

I'm saying that, assuming the information you gave me is true, your source's information is most likely correct. I haven't confirmed your source's identity, though, and I'll leave that to R_E.
The source for the poster still seems right, but your source makes some damn good points.

Hey all... I'm retired, not dead. Check out what I'm doing these days (and beg me to come back if you want):
Face it w/o legal text there is no way this can be real.
Legal text is often quite small so that the flashy pretty things can get more attention than the boring text...and it's not like the scan of the poster is that big in the first place...
Interesting side note, i seem to remember a much huger thread discussing the pros and cons of the new card face back before 8th came out that had sumthing like 2000 posts on (mtg news before it got bad). So this is not a record yet.
hmmm....i wasn't swayed at all about the "poorly designed" aspects of this poster and only an "untalented hack" could do it. As it is the first time anyone saw this pissed his pants, twice even, so whoever designed this gave us just what we wanted, simple, efficient, and on demand.
the copyright info, however, is interesting. every poster i have seen has the info on the front.
edit: guess i haven't seen that many posters
edit2: gah, as soon as i edit, sengir edits his

You got post #1000 dude, that's crazy. We got a thousand posts in a day. Welcome to insanity. If this is a shop, this guy is amazing.
Whatever the verdict of the truth of this is, it really shows what happens what you tell people what they want to hear.
EDIT - Can legal text be on the back side of the poster by chance?
