The card Metallic Mimic has an effect of giving an additional counter to creatures that enter in with counters. My question is, if a creature comes in with 0 counters, does it come in with one? Looking on reddit, I've seen the debate go back and forth. I would assume that creatures coming in with 0 counters get an additional 1, making it 0+1=1.
There isn't any official ruling on it as of yet, is the card still ok to play in a standard counters deck or should i temporarily replace it until the ruling is clear?

You're misreading it. It puts counters on any creature of that type, regardless of whether it would normally have counters. So if you choose Elf, and play it in your Elf Deck, your Llanowar Elves will come into play with one +1/+1 counter, and your Joraga Warcallers will come into play with one more counter than you paid for with multikicker.

Ok thank you. It was the word "additional" that was throwing me off. Like elves for example, llanowar elves come in with 0 counters on them. So if i picked elf, they would come in as a 1/1 elf with a +1/+1 counter.
