My friend and I are having a discussion about nissa's +1 ability.
Is turning a land into a creature not the same as becoming a creature?
His reason is that if nissa turns a land into a creature, it will come in as an ETB.
So scry lands being turned into creatures will come in tapped and activate their scry ability.
However, I argued that turning and becoming are the same thing. They just turn into creatures, do not get the ETB effects, and effectively transforms into a manland.
Is wording on the two cards makes it different that they have result in a different outcome? or will it be the same outcome coming in as is, without ETB?
No it becomes a creature soo it doesn't get removed from the batlefield and returned as a creature ( This would grant a ETB trigger)
If a card dont moves from the batlefield to another zone ( Library, stack , hand , exile, you own outside the game(sideboard), command zone) and then returns to the batlefield then there is no trigger (scry 1) . How can you enter a room that you are already in?

The card is not entering the battlefield, it has simply gained a new type. The card existed on the battlefield before and after the ability of Nissa.
