I would say its too early to tell. Its nice to see those but if the follow up with a bunch of $5 or less mythics it will fall on its face. It's nice to see but I guess just wait and see how it pans out. I remember jumping the gun on MM2015 thinking the same and getting burned.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

Well there were more expectations for masters sets because of higher pricing

There also was no precedent given that the original MM set was probably worth more than MM2015 and had a lower MSRP. When they led off with a strong mythic spoils I assumed it was good to go but then we got mediocre rares and a bad string of uncommons in comparison to the original MM set.
I am just saying that there is a very low risk in waiting a few more days before but still a risk in jumping the gun.

So far its true. Not a single ***** rare/mythic card spoiled so far. Of course we still have alot of cards to be spoiled but i'm still impressed by the quality reprints. Hopefully the stnkers not revealed yet won't ruin the set but i doubt it because we have quite a number of quality cards.
As a pure commander player, it feels like we got a second set this year
The prices on the singles are huge though compared to other recent sets. Arena Rector is starting at €20 on MCM right now. I get that it's a good card and €10 would be totally fine but €20? All the normal playable rares that are somewhat playable start at €4. These prices really need to come down, or i'm skipping it entirely. I also expect to want some core 19 and commander stuff and unfortunately I don't make as much as wizards would want me to

The secret to enjoyable Commander games is not winning first, but losing last.
If my post has no tags, then i posted from my phone.

Don't preorder then. Wait until people start cracking boxes and drafting the set to buy singles. Of course, you run the risk of a card like rector getting even MORE popular and more expensive. I think it's a safe bet that the rector won't really drop much below where it's at... turns out rector for walkers is pretty good and appealing to a wide variety of players. Anything remotely playable in commander will be getting targeted for preorder right now, I wouldn't even bother. That being said, prices on most cards won't stay high as the packs are just standard-priced packs and not masters or anything.
All I'm going to say is to not get smoke and mirrored by reprints being shown that are mythic. You want to judge the box by the cards you will be almost guaranteed to pull. I don't think that a box is worth it to open if the only guarantee is that someone is going to get at least one or two cards that are as good as Greater Good, if that makes sense.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Thankfully with great reprints at rare to go with normal pack prices this set won't feel a waste. It also helps that you will be able to draft the set for 15 dollars unlike Master 25 which was 25 - 30 dollars a draft.
Is it just me or with the last lot of spoiled reprints (and some of the new cards) is this just a straight better masters set at a much better price??
Listen to what Colt47 said. Don't get snookered into seeing a mythic and thinking it makes it good value. You may have to buy 100 packs before you get that value mythic you want, 3 boxes or so. Don't expect those. Look at the final list of rares to see what is offered. (If you are looking for value.) If not just buy and have fun or don't, whatever.

With the exception of Land Tax, True-Name Nemesis, and Doubling Season, most of the reprints I see are cards currently selling for $7.50 to $20.00. Most of those reprints are EDH cards. A good set for EDH stuff.
However, I'm convinced now that Wizards is cherry-picking cards based on secondary market prices to strategically reprint in products. Wizards are saving any Modern reprints for Masters sets and making us pay extra.
