Look at who just got promoted. Samut, the Tested doesn't look so bad anymore. With all the Enrage Dinos, her second ability can allow for two Enrage triggers in a single turn. Dropping Samut while Ranging Raptors and Ripjaw Raptor are out and essentially generating an Explore seems like a perfect fit for a Dinosaur deck.
What say you? Does Samut start showing up in Dinosaurs.dec?

Samut was already really good. Turn 3 Heart of Kiran, turn 4 planeswalker, crew the vehicle and swing 8 in the air; this presumes your opponent doesn't Abrade, of course. Alternatively, if you have Voltaic Brawler out then +1 Samut, spend the E, and attack with 4/3 double strike trample.
That being said, you are definitely not wrong--a double enrage can make a lot of difference. She is already in that ally color pair so people are going to try her out. As far as I can tell, dinosaurs.dec will be what werewolves.dec from SOI never was.
From the matches ive seen, Decks built around Enrage failed everytime.
You play bad cards to trigger couple enrage triggers.
Ironically Samut is just bad vs Control too.
Now i dont wanna list only worst case scenarios.
Sanuts -2 can disrupt fast Dex, until da big guns enter & therefore grant you more time. Doublestrike is tremendous too with Chargin Monstrosaur (even on curve)etc.
I still prefer Huatli, big Ajani & big Vraska in a Dino-Deck with many mana-elves anyway. It simply works better & by da way Huatli can trigger Enrage 2.
My god, the bots are learning. They now speak MtG and THEN attempt to send us into a financial death spiral and have our accounts hacked.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

I've been hoping dinosaurs would take off. They seem to be showing p some, but I'm curious as to if they can evolve into something in the top tiers. (Pun intended.)

Yeah, Enrage during the prerelease was not good. I was able to deal with Ripjaw Raptor and its kin fairly easily in that setting. But, in a Standard format, I could see Enrage, while not being the main strategy, providing a nice advantage if supported correctly. Maybe Samut doesn't make the cut, but I would definitely try her if I ever decide to play Standard.

While I'm a big fan of the enrage mechanic and hope it returns in Rivals, I'll have to admit that it has obstacles to standard viability.
The first is that the mechanic is parasitic, which is what hurts it the most in limited. None of the enrage dinos damage themselves, and all of the best enablers are Rile and fight cards. Without them, you have to rely on your opponent blocking your creatures or attacking with blockable creatures, which won't happen often if your opponent's deck consists of a bunch of evasive pirates and Admiral Beckett Brass.
Secondly, I feel like Enrage is a few cards short of being a real deck. A dino equivalent to Nin, the Pain Artist, for example, or any repeatable enabler with an upside would be perfect. Another great dino with enrage wouldn't hurt, either.
If anything, I think enrage will make Samut worse than she already is (which I didn't think was possible). You don't really want to use her -2 on your own creatures, because paying 4 mana for your two best enrage triggers doesn't seem all that worthwhile on a planeswalker minus ability. And since Ixalan is introducing a decent amount of enrage creatures into the format, you run a higher likelihood of encountering them on the other side of the table, which reduces the usefulness of her Twin Bolt effect.
So it basically boils down to:
You don't want to use her -2 on your own creatures because it's not good enough to justify pinging your own creatures with a 4-mana planeswalker instead of interacting with your opponent's board, and
You don't want to use her -2 on your opponent's creatures because, in addition to being an already weak effect, you run a higher risk of encountering scenarios where damaging those creatures actually generates value for your opponent.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
What say you? Does Samut start showing up in Dinosaurs.dec?
