I am SOOOOOOO stoked w/ this set!!! We have, essentially, Legenday lands on the B side of the DFC's that get around the Reserved List. I think most of them are going to be chase rares (aren't even on the Mythic lists):
Getting the cards to flip won't be too difficult. What I find very interesting is that NONE of these cards were on the leaked sheet of cards, meaning they are printed (obviously because of the DFC side) on a different sheet. Could there be a sheet specifically for the DFC's?
I think this is going to be a wildly fun standard. As a kitchen table player and a Commander player, these cards just add more spice to the spice rack.
I think the flip cards are pretty great (saying this as someone who doesn't like the concept). Thematically they are really cool and for an old geezer who loved time spiral block it hits the all the nostalgia buttons for me.
They are actually BETTER flipped than the old busted cards. You could included just the flipped side in cubes/casual (assuming your group is cool) if the power level is appropriate.
They'll be fun in EDH, Limited, and Casual for the most part IMO. Adding more work to make a reserved effect isn't the greatest, however I'll try to get some copies for EDH.

Disagree.
Gaea's Cradle is completely busted, making the player to jump through a very easy hoop to get to a Cradle will lead to big moments where everybody tries to stop the card from flipping.
I like the sound of that more than "play Cradle... I win".
As far as the RL is concerned this is the best of both worlds: more cards with the effects that so many people want while still allowing the originals to be better.

No I agree that it's a 'fair' adaptation, but in a competitive scenario would you rather wait on an upkeep trigger or win as you say you can?
I think the cards are fine as I said for less competitive formats, and limited is going to be interesting.
I was also saying that they aren't the greatest, meaning that the work that goes into flipping (transforming) them makes them fair and not overtly broken, because the desired result requires setup and not special action. They do reward you for getting there, which is the hallmark of EDH.
I had a lot of fun in a draft with Dowsing Dagger on a cheap flier. As stated I think these will mostly be relevant to casual/commander and limited. Possibly also standard.
These are nowhere near as strong as the real deals, so I really wouldn't say it's "skirting" the reserve list any more than Island is totally a reprint of Mox Sapphire.
I like good cards. Ixalan has not found its way around good cards. Until the other side of Nether Void is eratta'd to say "if a player casts a card, **** you", there are no good flip cards.
So far we have:
Temple of Aclazotz [ Diamond Valley ] Legendary
Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun [ Gaea's Cradle ] Legendary
Spires of Orazca [ Maze of Ith ] Not Legendary

Must be a small sheet, or have multiple printings of the same card, or there are much more than we haven't seen yet. Keeping fingers crossed.

That makes it sound as if it's Wizards VS people that own reserved cards.
I think everyone likes this, the originals don't lose value and more people have access to these effects.
It's how Brainstorm was like Ancestral Recall; Fire Diamond et al were "fixed" moxen and Lion's Eye Diamond/Lotus Vale were your newest takes on Black Lotus.
This isn't new, but it is a more bold step to bring pseudo-RL effects back that's for sure.
