Hi all, now that the full set has released, are there any cards you intend to preorder, for use or for speculation? I'm really only feeling a few cards. Hollow One and the Sarcophagus artifact. I was originally also interested in the Ramunap excavator, but then I discovered it's also a draft weekend promo and I think it shouldn't be too hard to get enough copies.

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
Hour of Devastation: nice red sweeper. I think Wizards is running an experiment with this card to see if they can make big-red work. I like that it's an experiemental progression on the usual 3-mana 3-damage to all. Hitting PW is a nice innovation.
I have about the same amount that I'm waiting for post-release as I'd expect their price to come down. Exception ramunap excavator. I'll think about it some more, but I should just bite the bullet now as it might very well rise higher instead of lower. (Currently ay 8C$.)
PS: just for clarification, I don't buy standard cards above 5$, barring a few exceptions like: 1-of lengends or cards with modern usage (prototypal example: fatal push). So I would not buy Nical Bolas ever, for example, and just hope to open one in draft and buy it when it rotates.
Nothing.....pre-ordering cannot make money on this set it rarely does unless you spot a sleeper, and they are few and far between. For convenience some sets have some that are cheap pre-orders and you wont lose anything on, but this set is lacking those. The new 8cc Humility interests me for Enduring ideal in Modern, which will continue as a fringe deck at best, but it will be cheaper later on. Solemnity won't sky-rocket- if it spawns a new Lands legacy deck the lands will be the ones skyrocketing. Preordering is generally a surefire way to lose money. You would be better off picking up speculative cards impacted by the new set- -Glacial Chasm and cumulative upkeep cards, for example, but only off cheap sites like Magiccardmarket. If they don't fire you can sit on them and wait for them to spike at some future point. If they do you are quids in. Given the way people gorge themselves on sets, the prices will soon come crashing down.

I agree, if you don't play Standard there is no need to be in a hurry since cards are usually there cheapest at rotation not at pre order. I don't see any real sleepers in this set. There are a few EdH targets but it will be cheaper to wait to pick them up.
