There's at least 3 comments in this thread mentioning Bone Splinters, I don't think some of you have read this card properly. If ANY creature dies, it costs 1 mana. You don't need to sacrifice anything, you just Shock or Fatal Push your opponent's 2 drop on t2 and then play this for B.
I'm not sure I'd discard Walking Ballista just to get this on t1. You're throwing away one of the best cards in standard for potentially 3 more damage. And if they Shock it you just feel terrible lol. However, with the new split cards Walking Ballista + split card = instant Delirium which is huge if you're playing Grim Flayer on t2. So it might be worth it but only if you care about delirium.
I don't think I'd run Walking Ballista or Endless One in a Bone Picker list at all. Both of those cards are suited to a midrange strategy if anything and I really don't think that's where you want to be with this card.
A lot of people have been comparing this to Deliver of Secrets. Well what makes Delver so good is that it puts a 3 power clock on your opponent on turn 1 or 2. I really think that you want this to be a clock you out on your opponent early game and not just a midrange piece because, honestly, if I wanted a midrange flyer I would probably be playing Heart of Kiran.

I think a lot of players just want a non-flippy version of delver due to how annoying the whole sleeving bit is.
There is very little in amonket that is powerful enough to make it in modern. Heck, there is little that is powerful enough to compete with kaladesh.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
The deck I'm actually brewing with Bone Picker is zombie aristocrats in frontier / standard. The problem right now with zombies in amonkhet is that the humans are just so much better. We're basically going to see a human boros deck 100% for sure looking at how they stacked the set and it's going to turn into a game of "can you outrace them?". So far mathematically the answer has been no, but I'm trying hard.
We'll see how the meta pans out. The trouble with narrow hate cards is what do we side out? Also, does splashing for that color for the hate compromise the decks strategy?

There's no way the card is worth putting in 4 of dead cards like Wild Cantor/Blood Pet. I can see this as delver 5-8 in UB tempo deck that's high on removal.
