I got a feeling there might be something we can do with Scrap Trawler, but it's going to depend on some factors. The only real deck brewing I've seen so far for the new set has been from MTGDev on his youtube channel, and it's this guy here which is for an aggro deck idea...
The issue is that if this goes like the kaladesh reveal, we'll get a bunch of cards that are unpredictable wild cards early in the spoilers and then get the rest of the set and basically either smash our collective faces into the wall or go running around into a brewing frenzy.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Tezzeret the Schemer and Heart of Kiran provide a nice combination. +1 Tezzeret, then Heart of Kiran is sitting there to defend Tezzeret for -1, while you keep improving your -2 ability or potential offense or build board state, etc.
Unless you can spend energy, you're eventually forced to pay EE and can no longer spam Greenbelt Rampager.
Each time you play & bounce it back, you do 3 damage to a creature or player and gain one E. You can build up a massive amount of energy this way. It's a 2-card combo that will dominate if left unattended.

Because Greenbelt Rampager does not say "you may", you cannot "build up a massive amount of energy"--the moment you resolve that elephant and have EE, the elephant's ETB trigger forces you to pay EE, and if you don't burn up energy in response, you have to keep the elephant and go back down to 0 E.

OK, so I realized the error in my calculations after reading the card. One would need a single E use each turn. Luckily, such cards exist: Multiform Wonder & Spontaneous Artist. Both have abilities that use one E at any time, hence leaving you with only one E to combo out. Sure, you won't build an arsenal of energy, but you will get the most out of the Multiform Wonder!
The combo with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Walking Ballista is so broken xD, Walking Ballista goes down for 0 and you are ready to combo out. 6 manas two card monocolored combo, this can be interesting.
In modern, how about 4 1/1 fliers, 4 cards, and take control and haste a creature for a turn for a meager 3 mana? Kari Zev's Expertise + fused Beck//Call. Throw in Simian Spirit Guides and you can be rocking this on T1 easy. For a spicy alternative, switch out Beck//Call for Breaking//Entering.
Yay splinter twin. felidar guardian and saheeli rai. Yes, it's not as good as actual splinter twin plus deceiver exarch, but it's a turn 4 kill in standard and frontier.
There's chatter on ways to use Yehenni's Expertise in the main thread, but that requires digging to find the combos.
Let's post the combo's thought up here.
List of what we have & when (I'll most likely stop the list when the full list of spoilers go up):
On 11/29/16: Yahenni's Expertise, Scrap Trawler, Trophy Mage and Quicksmith Rebel
You can still theoretically pull off Improvise Thoughtcast on Turn 1 in Modern:
Memnite, Ornithopter, Ornithopter, Glimmervoid, Mox Opal, "Thoughtcast" by tapping all artifacts for Improvise and tapping Glimmervoid for U

Also, Mikaeus has a new best friend in Walking Ballista.
Maybe something like:
Standard:
+Infinity/+Infinity with Wandering Fumarole or Kazuul's Toll Collector (plus an equipment).
Modern:
+Infinity/+Infinity with Lightning Greaves, Blessing of Leeches, Shuko, Outrider en-Kor, Frenetic Sliver, and any equipment alongside Puresteel Paladin.
Commander/Older Formats:
All of the above, but also combos with any white creature that has "en-Kor" in its name (like Shaman en-Kor), Soothsaying, Blinking Spirit, Chimeric Idol, Crypt Rats, Basalt Monolith, Frenetic Efreet, and Mist Dragon. And that's just the easy two-card combos, not considering anything that needs shenanigans to work (like an Umbral Mantle + Elvish Aberration combo).
