Went to order all of the new commanders cash in hand. Did not see an option to buy them non-foil. Deleted cart.
I was planning on adding them all to my EDH Cube, but since readability is a huge priority (even huger than my hatred for foils) these things are worthless to me. Like literally, if you offered to give them to me for free I would decline because they take up space that readable cards could be taking.
The Partner cards were something I was really looking forward to too.

I bought myself a set of all the new commanders because that's what I do when a new set comes out. I was impressed by the fact that they weren't FTV-style foiled, then realized that I'd allowed myself to be impressed that WOTC hadn't done something that absolutely everyone hated.
I like the way that they dd it before - make the cards in the decks nonfoil, and issue judge promos of the more popular ones (Oloro, Feldon, Nekusar, etc). Why do people who like foils like them? Because they're scarcer. Syndrome said it best: "And when everybody is [foil], then nobody will be."
I will say that some cards look absolutely gorgeous in foil. These ain't it. Take it from the guy with the binder of foil legendaries - go back to the nonfoils in the decks.

Disagreed.
Part of the problem is that they have at least three commonly-used foiling types
(not accounting for weird stuff like promo Dimir Guildmage, etc.)-
1- Pack foils (generally the most beloved type, though some sets like AVR and Kaladesh use type 3)
2- FTV foils (generally the most bemoaned type, and I tend to agree)
3- Intro Pack Foils (these are way more divisive. I like them, but not everyone does)
While I can't deny that going with "foil type 1" would have been a better choice,
these types of products *always* have "type 3," so it's no surprise.
Not only are those cards useful for more decks,
they would also be worth more and better serve their purpose as rewards for judges.
People should be able to play foil Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis without giving judges an utterly worthless promo.

I don't care either way, do both. I only get the cards I need for my collection and keep it moving. If I want to know what a card does, I read it. yes that is a strategy that leads to revealing information, but it is way more worth than bemoaning about how hard it is to read a card across the table.
But until we get a oversized basics, I can't really play my oversized Commander deck.

Wanted -Zombie Foils and older expensive Zombie stuff. High Priority- Beta Z Master/ Int. Collector's Edition.
I like how all of the Partner and 4-colour commanders were given as foils, but they're like the commander's arsenal cards so they aren't like true foils y'know. However Judge foiling looks dope, and I need a foil Prossh so WOTC should get on that at some point.

Additionally, cards like Karador, Ghost Chieftain and Oloro, Ageless Ascetic "waste" Judge Promo slots that could be going to more deserving cards like Capture of Jingzhou or Kor Haven.
