There seems to be quite a bunch of them. Anyone who's been around during the OG Mirrodin ought to be feeling at aleast a tiny bit uncomfortable seeing, say Reckless Fireweaver . It's not Disciple of the Vault but it looks scarily close. Or it might be even sillier than Disciple of the Vault since this new thing combos with Hurkyl's Recall for example.

Disciple of the Vault is way, way better than Fireweaver. You can play Disciple on a board with a ton of artifacts, including a sac outlet, and you immediately threaten a ton of damage, sometimes enough to win on the spot. Even if they have instant speed kill, you can respond by saccing everything. Fireweaver, on the other hand, has to be played before all the artifacts, meaning his damage will come much more slowly as the artifacts trickle in. This also gives him ample opportunities to die in the meantime. He's also a very bad late-game draw, unlike Disciple. Disciple can close a game out of nowhere, even when behind; Fireweaver at best threatens a predictable trickle of damage. He may still be good in the right deck, but he's no Disciple.
etb effects from creatures have gotten stronger and more efficient over the years, no doubt. It's almost a requirement that a creature immediately does something either by entering or leaving the battlefield. It's worrying to some extent, but I think it's acceptable at the moment. Thragtusk has to be one of the worst offenders in that regard, and thank god nothing is that annoying right now. Spell queller and reflector mage are disgusting, but things should calm down a bit once coco rotates.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Oh, without a doubt, but it still has shennanigans written all over it. It looks like one of those commons that get planted or sneak into a cycle but are way better than the other parts of the cycle and end up coboing with something somewhere in very silly and seemingly unintended ways. The disciple was mad in his block, granted, but this guy looks just off somehow...
It's rarity is simply suspicious, there's just way more potential for it to be stupid somewhere out of block or standard than feels acknowledged with someone saying "yeah, this guy is allright at common". He's also built like the stats are supposed to compensate for something, as if whoever gave him the stats thought the ability was meh. Sure, power creep and "recent years" and "these days", but still...
