Not sure if a thread has been posted about it yet, but totally a buffed up Zada, Hedron Grinder 2.0. Notice that if they try to sue removal on it, it removes all their creature as well! Also not a Legendary
Going right into the Scion deck, that thing is crazy.
This doesn't work the way you want it to. If you activate Scion to become Mirrorwing in response to removal, the spell has already been cast and Mirrorwing's ability won't trigger.

My Cubes - The Busted Cube. A fully functional, almost 100% custom cube. The project started out by asking "What if other colors got cards on the power level of Mana Drain,Ancestral Recall, and Time Walk?" Draft and enjoy!

Oh, well. At least, I can use it to tone the deck down for when I introduce people into my play group.
I currently play a temur dragons standard deck and I'm wondering if this could replace icefall regent, it surely would help the mana correction since it's complicated to have doble U in turn five (also it survives a languish), but I'm not entirely sure it's a better card.
Right now, no one is playing a sweeper that can hit this guy. So, they can ult price it...and kill their entire team. They can dec stone it...and exile their entire team.
I run a r/b dragon deck and my 5 drop is for GDD and I don't think this guy beats it. I could try him as a replacement for kolaghan tho. Wish he had protection from white, but that's just me missing stormbreath.
World Breaker 4 of in every deck to counter this o.o

712.5b The controller of another player can't make choices or decisions for that player that aren't called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can't make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.
Example: The player who's being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.

Or they could Titan's Strength it and pump their entire team and just go wide
I so badly want to harmless offering this guy to my opponent, then it triggers and gives the rest of my team to him, and then say, "I scoop".
OMFG that is hilarious!

I actually think it is one of the best cards of the set. It doesn't have haste, like thundermaw or stormbreath, but it does a great job of deterring removal. While I think allowing your opponent to choose makes it worse than it would appear flying is already very good in the current format. I also think the concerns that it enables opponents to be pretty flawed as there is currently no spell that see's play in standard that this enables outside of bad decks. There are a few removal spells that get around it's ability but all of them. There are of coarse a handful of decks that don't run many creatures that won't mind him. Still a 4/5 flyer is quite good on it's own.

Especially in Modern and up, Mirrorwing Dragon sadly won't stop any opponent without creatures from booting it with spot removal. I'd bet opponents are willing to lose Snapcaster Mage to boot Mirrorwing Dragon if Tiago is their only creature.
if your opponent has no creatures out when you put out mirrorwing, or they are willing to sac their snap casters, then you probably already have that game in the bag (unless its a control deck). but that's what is so powerful about this card. It makes your opponent decide, "Am I willing to reset my entire board just to kill him", or "do I waste the last removal spell in hand"? either way it resets the game, at least creature wise, if you play him. they either die outright, or reset from square one. that's pretty powerful.

So hilarious in how that doesn't work.
Harmless Offering targets both target permanent AND target opponent. So as it has a target other than Mirrorwing Dragon, the Dragon's ability won't trigger.

no sense of humor at all. thanks Bill Nye for clearing that up. the point was to make fun of harmless offering as it has literally NO legitimate targets in the entire block (and no, castigator and mindwrack are not legit targets, you are always better off having the 4/9 flyer or 4\5 flying trample than dealing with the downside). I understand that YES, YOU ARE CORRECT. But trying to inject a little humor into the otherwise dismal spoiler season for any red player, and doing so on the thread of the only truly good red card, is worth being wrong. watch out people the "fun police" are here, and they really REALLY hate humor.

There's a control deck on the rise in Modern, and it involves 6 creature cards (4 of them are Snapcaster Mage the Flashed Back Removal, 1 of them is old Emrakul, Madam Protection From Coloured Spells, the last is typically Vendilion Clique the Expendable). It also involves Nahiri, the Harbinger, and all Team Nahiri needs is to burn up 2 turns for her to ult or wait for Mirrorwing to tap. Team Nahiri will lose creatures to burn up 2 turns.
Grixis Midrange-Control also plays relatively few creatures and is willing to lose Snapcaster to blow up Mirrorwing, especially since they can Kolaghan's Command back Tiago. (Heck, they may be willing to lose 2 Tiagos to blow up Mirrorwing.)

that sounds like a fun deck, but I did preface that with (unless its a control deck) as its obviously bad against control.
Fits nicely along side of Thunderbreak Regent I feel. Spot removal vs tokens/company decks has been an issue for my Dragon builds this current standard. They generally don't mind the 3 dmg from T-Breaks to remove it as they are extremely soft to flying until they can get an Ormendhal online. Having another relative flying threat with a huge removal downside and possibly generating a board wipe isn't a bad place to be at the 5 spot. I agree GDD is better in the 5. Although, this should find itself somewhere in the 75 of most Dragon based builds. I still like Dragonlord Kolaghan in BR builds, but could see it md in UR builds over Icefall Regent. Of which I'm not a big fan of right now with all the weenie and go wide strats dominating the current meta.

After some play testing I think I'll replace Icefall Regent with Mirrorwing. It's great against removal though I'll put my 2 Icefall regents on SB son I can swap between the dragons depending on the deck I face.

And who exactly is going to call "judge" on you if you try it? You want to give me all your creatures and then quit? ummm, okay.
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

Thank you, Exactly. I clearly meant for this to be a joke as the worst way to play mirrorwing dragon, but some people need to be right, even if the situation is clearly not serious
