Johnnys don't usually make threads. When they do, they are typically for non-obvious combos. The truth is that Donate combos aren't new and everyone, for the most part, knows how they work. It will be interesting to see if Harmless Pact becomes an actually good deck in standard.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
I posted on another thread the idea of having a deck with creatures that are horrors. then play thing in the ice, remove two counters naturally, then donate thing in the ice to the opponent, which takes a third counter off. this leaves them with having to choose whether or not to play any instants or sorceries, because if they do it will bounce all of their creatures to their hand and leave all of your on the board (unless they are using horror cards too). then if they do decide to play a spell and flip him, you just bounce him back to your hand after he resolves and ruins their board. its not great, but its the only not demonic pact, not goldnight castigator idea I could some up with
712.5b The controller of another player can't make choices or decisions for that player that aren't called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can't make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.
Example: The player who's being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.
Lots of fun casual Johnny combos with this card, and you could even build a Modern-legal "theme deck" with half a dozen different combos, but I don't think there's anything there for Standard or competitive play.
Actually, Pact might work out in Standard. You can choose the three "good" modes then donate it to the opponent, and they have to choose to lose the game.

That's a fun combo for Modern indeed. Aggressive Mining digs (pun unintended) for the pieces and also offers an alternative lock for your opponent if he gets behind on mana.
No one wants to discuss how donate is on the reserve list? I for one am glad to see another middle finger to the reserve list. Thanks Harmless Offering. All it takes is a color change to reprint cards then? Slightly different wording with the same effect? Okay wizards. Just add colors to dual lands and get this over with. Just do it. Every card change the color and reprint it. Change the artifacts to enchantments. Get this going I'm tired of waiting. ............10 years later........"hey guys we color changed 1 card again." collective sigh....
so now that the set is fully spoiled, there is literally NO target for this card in limited at all. Even with two SOI packs in prerelease, the only targets that aren't completely moronic are mindwrack demon, and goldnight castigator, both mythics in the set you get less packs of, and both are INSANELY GOOD IN LIMITED. so yes, there is no reason for this card to be in this block.
I agree. This is dumb in limited. WHich case I will open 2+ as Promos.
Demonic Pact 'combo', is about all its good for right now. We don't get creatures with drawbacks like we used to. There is no punishment for trying to circumvent the natural game design.
I do believe, that Bronze Bombshell or something more "pc friendly" will be in the next artifact set, Kaladesh. It seems to me as good a place as any to put that sort of thing.

"Oh Johnny, Johnny wherefore art thou Johnny?"

I'm not sure if you know what "wherefore" means.
Because flavor

How about this?

Go necro the thread for Twincast.

Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
There isn't even a zedruu like card to get some advantage off giving a global enchantment or something....
This aint your girlfriends meta! This is a man's meta! TURBO META.
It's going to be outside limited formats
But I rammed into a deck that had one on Xmage good thing I had a world breaker to get rid of it before the trick.
How exactly does World Breaker get rid of Harmless Offering?
I meant the demonic pact not the offer
It is was the offer I stopped
It would have Ben by kozilek, the great distortion by discarding a 3 CMC thing.
