All of these "Let's eliminate bad cards" crusades are simply ignorant. And when they start to devolve into "WotC is conspiring to give us crappy cards," they just become embarrassing. MATH is conspiring to give you crappy cards.
Yeah, interesting that (as far as I saw) she is even run over Newlamog in dedicated Ramp decks. Would have thought he is a better ramp target (although he regularly costs 2 mana more).
Besides, feels like Planeswalkers are now the 2nd most played card type after creatures (excluding lands). You can see 2-3 PWs vs 2-3 PWs all the time. Not sure if I like that.

No sir. Excluding lands, unless my links are off, it's creature, then instant, then walkers.
New emrakul sucks, easy to kill, you offical have Ben proven wrong.
New emrakul currently has some of the best decks in pro tour
And also she's now 40$ right now
And I got her for 20$
NICE!
I feel similarly vindicated by the performance of Liliana, the Last Hope,
another card I felt was being seriously undervalued.
And hey, look- she's *also* worth over 2x her initial preorder price!

I was always under the impression that Emrakul would do well. She was easily slipping in at 8 mana, and man, that's everything you'd want in an 8 mana creature. Really impressive presence as expected. (her run is just starting, but I can't see that effect on cast being slept on during her time in Standard)
And holy Jace Liliana Nissa Tamiyo. There were a lot of planeswalkers... I've never been a fan of there being 10+ PWs in standard rotations, but the cards have become synonymous with the game so I can't hope to expect that number to go down anytime soon.

Bought a copy for 8 euro (about $9), 3 days later he jumps to 15 and 2 days later to 40. I have never been so happy.
Sucks I didn't get my hands on liliana cheaper..
Back to topic, I think Emy 2.0 is quite good, won 2 games just by casting it and enemies forfeited because I would wreck their hands and boards.. I think he is strong in the right deck.
Post-PT seeing all the comments on this and lili is pretty hilarious. I got 2 of my lilis for 20 cash and the other two out of packs. I been building gb delirium since I saw emn spoiled and I love the deck. Liliana and grim flayer are amazing cards.

I picked up my playset when they were $12 each! Then the next day I bought a booster pack just to meet the debit card minimum at my shop and there was another Emmy in it! Wish I picked up Lili's when they were cheaper though... I have one from prerelease but that's it (foil though!)
The point is, ignoring the CA for the opponent in playing this card, and acting like it's a free win when it is still subject to removal is foolish. 13 mana for a worse mindslaver effect is not a game winning effect.
WHAT CARD ADVANTAGE???
Yeah, okay, let us analyze this claim.
Let's say that you have an Ishkanah + Spider crew in play when you cast Emrakul.
You take your opponent's turn, and see that they have a Ruinous Path in hand.
So you have them Ruinous Path their best creature, eat their second best creature with Emrakul, and kill their third best creature with your Ishkanah + Spiders.
They then take their "extra" turn, and draw another Ruinous Path or whatever to kill your Emrakul.
That's still like a 5-for-1, which is a VERY favorable exchange. More often than not, that will put you in a dominating position to win the game, even in the case that your opponent finds a way to kill your Emrakul.
(And even so, you can just recast your Emrakul with Liliana or Grapple with the Past or something)
So really, where are you getting this notion that using your opponent's resources to remove their OTHER resources is "card disadvantage" just because they get an extra draw step?
Each removal spell in their hand is a 2-for-0 on your end.
Combat is, bare minimum, a 1-for-0 (ignoring corner cases), and only goes up as your board presence improves.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Well, first of all, while some would think that "protection from instants" and "can't be countered", are the same thing, but the new one is so much better! Your opponent cant play -X -X instants AND can't counter it! The old one also has annihilator 6. 6 people!!! I mean, despite the 2 mana cost difference, Annihilator 6 is always awesome! Then again, with the new Emrakul you can have cards in your graveyard help with casting. AND you take control of your opponent for one turn. The old Emrakul goes back in your library. The new one has trample. Crap! I had a point when I started..... In my opinion Emrakul, The Promised End and Emrakul, The Aeons Torn are both super cool, so its hard to say which is better. I'm gonna go with Emrakul, The Promised End.For the pure reason of trample.
What planet do people live on where they think the opponent gets an "extra turn"? You play Emrakul, you play their turn and ruin their board position and hand, THEN they get a turn. The only good thing that happens is that they get to draw a card, and that's only good if it doesn't do anything disruptive that turn.
Well, you can't expect a 7-10 mana card to read 'You win the game.', can you? I really don't get this 'But sometimes the opponent can still win after an Emrakul' talk.
Also, they get an extra turn compared to Mindslaver, true, but they don't get (or lose) any compared to the normal course of actions.
Giving them their regular turn in exchange for a 13/13 flying, trample, pro instants isn't a horrible trade. Emrakul can also be even cheaper than mindslaver. I've actually cast it for 5 or 6 in commander without altering my deck at all other than adding the spaghetti monster and it almost always costs 10 or less just by playing the game so basically any work will make it the most efficient fat for the cost ever. Sure, it's not emrakul 1 but it really costs 1/3 to 2/3 of the mana. The mindslaver has actually whiffed quite a bit, but it guarantees you a massive dude with some sweet abilities, anyway. Seriously, Ludevic's Abomination from Innistrad 1 is a 13/13 trample for 6 with echo for the most part. Emrakul can easily be way better.

Nah, I'd rather be on the correct side of history.
Being duly correct is satisfaction enough, and *that* pleases me

I got foil Emrakuls for $30 each and foil Lilianas for $40 each.
After they spiked, I traded them for all sorts of Eternal staples.
I just wanna thank all the naysayers for their piss-poor card evaluation skills.
Only bad thing about the new Emrakul is that she gives the opponent an extra turn after you take his/her turn.
Good thing about her is you can drop her for 6. Have her delirium ability in full force, with Kozilek's Channeler out as well.
Can say she is good, but the original one is far better.
