With Origins right around the corner I thought the community should start some good limited talks. With half the set out and a lot of scrutiny coming in for the rares and mythics let's give the little guys some time in the spotlight. So I want to know what you guys think the best RED COMMONS are for LIMITED. You can go top 5, top 3, or just the top.
I'll start. I THINK the best Red Common is Volcanic Rambler. I know six is a lot to pay, but if he survives to untap he can blast for two direct damage a turn, and that's without attacking. Also, there's not a lot of six-mana six-power creatures going around.
What do you guys think?

For Limited? Based on what we know right now (Sunday, June 28), Fiery Impulse. A Shock that can't hit a player is still decent. That said, we only know 12 red commons at the moment. Next up I'd go with Infectious Bloodlust or perhaps Lightning Javelin. Infectious Bloodlust has the potential to be pretty obnoxious when you can grab multiple copies and have a fast, aggressive deck.
Fiery impulse looks to be the best red common by a wide margin. Boggart Brute is probably going to end up being the best red common creature.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

I think that because removal is always picked highly, Fiery Impulse is the best so far because it is premium removal. I think Boggart Brute is the best common creature. Volcanic Rambler is good, but I would pick both of those and Lightning Javelin over it.

Volcanic Rumbler is just an okay creature in the late-game. A 6/4 is fine if unexciting, but it's high up on the curve and the mana sink ability is marginal and expensive.
Red's common 6-drops are often worse than Volcanic Rambler, though that's not really saying a whole lot. It's okay, but honestly, when it comes to six-drops, that often means it ends up seeing almost no play. You just don't really need any 6-mana spells that aren't amazing, and if you end up with 1 or 2 great 6-drops at the end of the draft, you're pretty unlikely to play any of the "okay" ones you might have picked up.
I agree that Fiery Impulse is the best red common we've seen, followed by Boggart Brute. Impulse probably remains the best once the whole set is spoiled, and Boggart probably ends up ~ 3rd depending on how deep red ends up being.
1) Fiery Impulse - It's a creature-only Shock that easily becomes a creature-only Bolt. Either way, strong.
2) Boggart Brute - Efficient evasive beater
3) Lightning Javelin - It's a bit overcosted, but it is still removal that scries
4) Subterranean Scout - It's a bear that can also get a dude in for damage.
5) Volcanic Rambler - Craw Wurm with a reach effect.

Thanks for all the replies. I know it's a bit early, but hopefully the conversation will keep going in the coming weeks.
All that copy/pasting must have really hurt your hands.
Boggart Brute is definitely the best red common at the moment. I don't think Fiery Impulse is better than it because of how much harder it is to turn on spell mastery in limited as opposed to constructed, especially in aggressive decks like red. It's still relatively easy to do, just not something I expect to happen consistently during the early turns of a game.

Agree with this.
Semi-Shock is nice, but not what it used to be given the increase in creature stats over time. Still a solid piece of removal, but nothing close to premium unless you are drafting the "spells matter" deck.
4. Infectious Bloodlust, if you can pick up three of these, it's one of your best cards, and if you have two it's probably playable if you're aggressive enough. Probably the best of the cycle, it may not be Rancor but it's awfully close.
3. Lightning Javelin, it feels overcosted but it's still probably very good.
Acolyte of the Inferno seems really good. He'll survive being chumped by anything with 2 or less toughness, will trade with anything with less than 6 toughness (or 7 if renown has triggered), and will be swinging for 4 power at 3 cost a lot of the time.

He's also an UNCOMMON.

2. Ghirapur Gearcrafter, this is the card that makes the artifact deck work.
1. Fiery Impulse, this may or may not be better than Shock, but Shock is great, so it doesn't matter too much.
He's also an UNCOMMON.
