But what if there are two Enduring Scalelord on the battlefield?
Impossible to really pull off in constructed, but theoretically if there are two Enduring Scalelord on the battlefield,
if you bolster one of them, both of them can have infinite +1/+1 counters [one will trigger the other, trigger the other, trigger the other...]
Is this combination worthwhile? Can anyone think of a way of making this work?
I was thinking Green White Red, with that Sarkhan Sorcery which tutors a dragon card in addition to quite a bit of mana acceleration could
possibly lead to an acceptable deck. What do you think?
I feel like the combo is a little too slow to be constructed playable. Even with a t1 Elvish Mystic into t2 Sylvan Caryatid means you'll hit your first Enduring Scalelord on turn 4 at best, and even then you've got a 4/4 with no protection as your entire turn 4 play. I think Citadel Siege may be your best means of counter producing, as it can start producing counters on your Enduring Scalelord's the turn they come into play, even if you're tapped out. The real issue is going to be surviving long enough to tutor up double dragons, and then protecting them long enough to go infinite. I think what's more likely would be crafting a Wg counter deck on its own, and then trying to slot in the Scalelords as a potential combo that the deck can operate without.
Casting two of them is way too slow but if you used a combo like *any creature that places or enters with counter* + enduring scalelord + twinflame
Eot chord of calling for scalelord next turn twinflame kersmack
I can have 2 Enduring Scalelords out by turn 5 with plenty of protection.
I have a counter deck that consists of Whisperer of the Wilds (4)
Birds of Paradise (4)
Servant of the Scales (4)
Harden The Scales (4)
Avatar of the Resolute (4)
Managorger Hydra (4)
Gleam of Authority (4)
And lands that give creatures +1+1 counters like llanowar Reborn and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood
When I pull a Birds of Paradise and Whisperer of the Wilds and Avatar of the resolute, on my 3rd turn I have 6 mana with a potential 4/3 creature with reach and trample and on turn 4 I usually have enough to play Enduring Scalelord #1 and on the next turn, the 2nd one with mana left over to play a counter producing spell which gives them infinite counters with Flying.
If I play Gleam of Authority on Avatar of the resolute - he would get infinite +1/+1 for every counter on other creatures - and he has trample.
Game over.
The only problem with mirroring the Enduring Scalelord is - you would have to have a card that triggers a 1/1 counter on a creature in order to trigger the infinity counters. Or have a creature like the Managorger Hydra that gives it a 1/1 counter for every spell cast.
You couldn't just copy it because the only way to get a 1/1 counter on it would be to put a 1/1 counter on another creature.
Does that make sense?
It seems pretty great.
