A card that pays to use +1/+1 counters. Really good to play when the opponent goes for a destruction wrath or for battle. Has potential for a number of builds that use +1/+1 counters for the draw and indestructible.
Casting this to protect one or two creatures and draw two cards would be very satisfying. It's probably a little clunky, but I'd like to play around with this,
It's definitely a card that promotes going wide rather than tall, and has some synergy with heroic. You could play a turn two Raise the Alarm into turn three Phalanx Leader with one mana left available to trigger with Ajani's Presence to protect it/trigger at the end of opponents turn. with Inspiring Call being instant, you can swing for seven on turn 4 and protect if needed (while drawing cards!), or save it to dodge removal on the opponents next turn. And, if you don't have a need to cast Inspiring Call, you can instead cast Secure the Wastes at the end of their turn. It also pairs nicely with Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and, of course, Elspeth, Sun's Champion.
All in all, I think it's a really fun build-around call for White/Green token/counter decks. It definitely seems like something that could be casual/FNM competitive, but not sure it will find a place in tier 1.
Edit: Also, of course, Abzan Ascendancy would absolutely slay when it enters the battlefield, but in a deck relying on going wide with tokens the second half of its effect would be a bit redundant and requires going into a third color.
