It was 50 for 1st, 24 for second, 12 for third. My friends all agreed to joint open the boxes and take equal value from the boxes. We each took about $70 worth of cards so the boxes were not that bad overall.
my store said wizards shorted them on product. which may just be a convenient excuse. they have never had this problem before. didn't know about this "problem" before after i was already committed to playing that store that night. weeeee 11 packs for getting 1st out of 57.
It's random. 3 sealed booster boxes were opened, 1,2 and 3 fetches in it.
Also we have 6 prerelease Sidisi for 12 Sultai players. And no one Savage Knukleblade for 60 prerelease boxes in all boosters from it.

That doesn't seem right; 11 packs for 1st is quite small unless they were only charging like $20 for entry. The midnight prerelease at the first store is where they reward top 4 with the majority of the prize pool. The second store I went to is a flat payout based on your record. 15 packs for 4-0, 10 packs for 3-0-1, and 5 packs for 3-1.
I have to rub this in. Out of my 21 packs from the prerelease (6 for sealed and 15 for winning), I had quite the pull. My promo was a foil Bloodsoaked Champion and my notable pulls were 2 flooded strands, 1 polluted Delta, 1 Clever Impersonator, 1 Sorin, 1 Knuckleblade, and a Butcher of the Horde :D. I was very pleased!
23 boosters from my two prereleases and no fetch, no sarkhan, no sorin. pretty sure the tcgplayer total of everything adds up to less than 30$ perorder price. very few of my opponents had opened up a fetch either. only the scrubs had managed to open a fetch.
a bloke (kid he is a good kid though been playing for 6 months) who doesnt even know what upkeep is or what the stack is opened 2 sarkhans 6 fetchlands in his 2 pre-releases 22 packs

screw the stack and priority and technical play, teach me how to open fetches/sarkhan/sorin.

And I thought I did well... I played 2 releases and got the butcher and the same fetches as you but my only mythic was the nexus.
The person sitting next to me opened a foil polluted delta and a regular flooded stand in the same pack pretty much right after I opened my 2 stands. It is just random. I have been playing since 6th edition and have never opened a foil mythic, yet my friend bought three packs while we were at the store one day and pulled 2 foil mythics. It is a really low reward/low risk (seeing as you always get at least something) lottery ticket.
I did three prereleases
And won 15 packs total.
Three fetches and a foil Polluted Delta.
Only one Mythic though.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
Statistical variation, people. My daughter and I have opened 19 packs so far and have gotten 2x Flooded Strand (one foil, both in same prerelease box), 1x Windswept Heath, and 2x Wooded Foothills, as well as a Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker and a Surrak Dragonclaw.
I've seen plenty of fetches thus far. I opened one in my prerelease pool and another in my prize packs.
I also watched somebody crack open multiple Intro packs and average one fetchland per. I think it was 1 fetch in the first, 2 in the second, none in the third, and 1 more in the fourth.

I love the "I am going to expose how little I understand about basic statistics" threads that pop up this time every set. That's all this is.
FYI - If I bought a box I would get 1 fetch and 2 Mythics... the $1-3 Mythics. I have ***** for luck.
I have pure **** for luck. For JOU I opened up 2 Worst Fears... which was my... worst fear... best thing I opened in the whole box was the Aegis of the Gods guy, and no one gives **** number 1 about him anymore, either. Only God I pulled was Kruphix. My box value was very, very sad. Meanwhile, my friend buys 1 pack a week and reliably pulls one of the top 3 cards in each set. He was even *****ing that he kept getting the King of Oreskos bastard. I wanted to punch him in the dick, lol.
That said, I have a KTK box on the way. I'm a masochist
I wasn't aware anybody actually bought boxes for value...

You do realise that "I have worse luck than everyone else because karma/the universe hates me/i'm just unlucky" is another version of understanding nothing about basic statistics, right?
That said, I do love to laugh at people that think their 1-in-15 unlucky streak is somehow a remarkable result. If there were not hundreds of thousands of 0 fetchland boxes, that would be statistically significant proof that WotC do not randomize the contents of packs. These threads remind me that there is indeed some element of randomness now.
Report any store shorted on product. They are given a certain amount for prerelease, based on prior attendance. They are told how many players they can have for an event. If they aren't receiving enough product, Wizards can fix it for future events. If they did, and lied, they lose the ability to host events.

Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.
Went to two prereleases and haven't gotten a fetchland yet. Got a bunch of foils if that's not common and a mythic (wingmate roc). Got a booster box and a fat pack on da way, so Im hopin for some more goodies. I ain't really a fan of fetchlands so I'll get rid of em lest I get a playset.

I can beat that. With just my sealed pool and one prize booster pack, I got 2 Polluted Deltas.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
I've been playing since M12 and got a foil Lazav. Of course, I traded it and a Breeding Pool away for some bad mythics and rares.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Then got 3 fetchlands in booster box.
1 Flooded Strand
2 Windswept Heath
1 Wooded Foothills
1 Bloodstained Mire
1 Sorin, Solemn Visitor
2 Sidisi, Brood Tyrant (1 foil)
1 Clever Impersonator
1 Surrak Dragonclaw
2 Butcher of the Horde
1 Crackling Doom
1 Utter End
Among the less amazing pulls were a freaking playset of Dragon-Style Twins and 2 Zurgo Helmsmaher.
