The infect lists are already fairly tight to the point of being able to win on T2, but T3 is more likely. To make this a better option, you would need to have 5 cards in the graveyard by T3 and have a creature on the field to pump.
I could see it as maybe a 1-of because drawing multiples would be horrible.

I don't think modern infection wins on turn 2. Legacy infect, yes though. I would say as a 2 of it would be good. It's very powerful with the fetches, and probably isn't the only pump spell you are using, so it can eat those as well.

Could work as a 1 of, but i'm not sure why you think it's relevant that we have 10 fetches now, that won't change the number of fetches that infect plays.
Infect (in UG form) can play 4 double-on-colour fetches and up to 24 single-on-colour fetches now, which is a big difference. You could build an all-in version of the deck with only 2 or 3 actual mana generating lands if you desired, and all of the others being fetches. All 12 (Modern) or 16 (Legacy) of the 0 mana cycling cards too - Street Wraith, Urza's Bauble, Mishra's Bauble, Gitaxian Probe.
If this card is played at all, it will be a 4-of, not a 1 of. And it will be in a very different Infect shell to what we are used to now. This card only works in Infect if you are really, really all-in.
My thoughts are - it's worth scrapping the whole Infect deck, trying out a version built around 4 of this card, and comparing results.
Edit: Oh and don't try it in this present metagame. If you go to a tournament, it's more likely that everyone at the tourney will be killed by a meteorite strike than that you'll win a single game against burn, and burn is a huge % of the Modern metagame right now.
To play Become Immense on curve, you only need 4 cards in the GY, easily accomplished with Phyrexian mana spells like Gitaxian Probe and Mutagenic Growth. GP has the added benefit of helping you draw into the growth spells. Manamorphose also works well thanks to the cantrip plus the mana replenishment.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Infect definitely needs more than 4 creatures (not counting the Wraiths). Definitely drop the Wisps, as they can't be cast unless there is a creature in play.
Since it's an aggressive combo, other creatures in the deck need to be cheap, like Blight Mamba or Plague Myr in monogreen or Blighted Agent or Plague Stinger in multicolor. And what should be played in the Wisps' stead? The main reason I included them was for the cantrip, though admittedly they're not as good as Gitaxian Probe or Street Wraith. I also considered Unnatural Predation for trample but I felt the number of cantrips was too low. I'm trying to make half the lands fetches and half the nonlands cantrips so it's easier to draw the cards you need.
The base strategy calls for a turn 1 Glistener Elf followed by a turn 2 Become Immense, which is possible with four or five cards in the 'yard. Probe and Wraith can be cast or cycled turn 1 or 2 and Manamorphose can be cast turn 2. Mutagenic Growth is ideally cast earlier on the same turn as Become Immense, while Groundswell and Viridescent Wisps effectively pay for themselves by giving you an additional card to delve. Fetches on turn 1 or 2 also contribute to the GY count. Between all the cantrips, fetches, and cheap pump spells, a T2 swing for 10-11 infect should be fairly consistent.

I just starting running a 1 of in my mono-green build. It's been nice in practice. Taking it to a modern local event tonight. It's a great "hmm, didn't quite pan out like the aggre/combo start i wanted", recovery mid-game/late-game spell. I wish i would have run it this weekend at the Modern Event I played. I hit this point of no return, where i needed a couple more damage.
Current Build - not buying Heirarch's, also not a huge fan of Might of Old Krosa, prefer instant speed myself, even if it's only +3/+3. Still messing with balance between Giant Growth and Groundswell. So far i'm liking the 3/3 split. I like the +3/+3 of giant growth to protect from Lightning Bolt, even on their turn.

I'll take another swing at Immense Infection this time with the goal of adding more creatures to the decklist. For now I'm sticking with the monogreen mana base so I'll be adding Blight Mamba and Ichorclaw Myr to the decklist. For some reason I hadn't considered Giant Growth. Cool as Groundswell is, Giant Growth is admittedly more consistent and it still provides enough of a boost in tandem with Become Immense to swing for game.
