Until end of turn, each creature target player controls loses all abilities and becomes a blue frog with a base power and toughness 1/1.
So not only do we get turn to frog, for one more blue mana. We get to turn their entire board into 1/1's and with stuff like chandra. You can ping off huge creatures for almost no cost, izzet staticaster comes to mind as well, also stack this with siege dragon for a board sweep. or just even use it as a normal combat trick. Thoughts on card? Mono U might have very useful tricks with this card.
I was a fan of Curse of the Swine, but I like this card a LOT more.
It's interesting to see this type of effect in Blue. It's a shame they don't bleed powerful effects into other colors as readily, even if Blue has had similar abilities to this for a long time now.
Seems great in U/R, which otherwise has trouble with large creatures. Too many things have to go right to get a blowout with janky combos, but hopefullt there's a solid pinger coming down the line.
If the opponent attacks with a few creatures and you cast this, I'm assuming they are still attacking but 1/1 froggies with no abilities right?
I think that's how it works and if that's correct then you don't even need another card to 'combo' with, just block and spash!
What about if you already placed damage on a creature (ie like Keranos 3 damage ability during upkeep) then turn it into a frog? Does the 3 damage stay on it and kill it?
With Verdict out, this is gonna be the new control blue card for sure. Not only that, but its one sided nature means that Mono blue or Ux decks can play it too (probably to even greater effect. If you compare this to Verdict.
Verdict:
4CC, hits you and opponent, destroys all, sorcery speed. Requires two colors
Better against aggro, does not require creatures of your own, a permanent solution to their creatures
Jest:
3CC, targets specific player, removes all creature abilities, making 1/1 creatures, not stopped by indestructibility.
Player still keeps their creatures, but if they are caught attacking you can annihilate their side and blow them out for 3 mana. Great in the creature vs creature matchup.
I bought 16 of these and can't wait for their prices to skyrocket when it sees heavily play from every blue deck. Especially with the lack of answers to creature decks that we have seen from Theros.
Do you consider Polymorphist's jest + Circle of flame a solid sinergy? I mean, is it a combo you'd try to exploit and build a deck around post rotation or is it just fun?
Probably not competitive, but now I want to try it with Bident of Thassa.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.

Blue has had identical abilities to this since M11, just not quite to this scale. There are a lot of ways to present Polymorph effects, (Ovinomancer, Deminish, Polymorph, Turn to Frog. I mean, if we want to get technical, just because it's an un card doesn't mean Fowl Play isn't perfectly within its slice of the color pie.)

Looking at M15, why would blue want Jest over Curse of the Swine? Seems the latter is much more certain than the former.

5 mana one sided board wipe. Yikes.
I'm not sure you quite get what strictly worse means...
It's in a different color and it turns them into creatures with different power/toughness. It's not even close to strictly worse.
Players can respond to that ( Ie sacrifice creatures, counters, etc...)...
and it make them 0/2 ( but not help againt tribal)
it is worse cause it don ' t have split second..
But it isn't strictly worse.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
Now don't lets start this again.
I am just saying that something in a different color that can be played by different decks cannot be called strictly worse.

I'm into it.

Also, there's BIG difference between making everything 0/2 and 1/1. 1/1s are much easier to kill, but pose a bigger threat as attackers.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.

Feel free to bid on my cards here!
With the 'base power and toughness 1/1' makes it much clearer that +1/+1 counters add to it.

Also, this needs to go into my mono blue deck, especially if I can get my NVS back
