Fleetfeather Cockatrice is a legitimate bomb in this format. The only argument against it is if you really want to stay open on your first pick. In that scenario you could make a strong case for most of the removal spells in the pack as secondary options. I'm taking the bomb though.

I think people are overestimating the cockatrice as you then are moving more heavily towards U/G. I think one of the three removal spells is the pick here, leaning towards black and red actually...
Deicide is one of the best removal spells in the entire set....What you expect me to say more? Fine. Fleetfeather is a cool creature, and certainly is bomb-esque. It is a fine first pick, but White is super strong in this set, and Deicide answers almost every bomb in draft. I also don't want to lock into 2 colors too early.
I chose Cockatrice, simply because it has the most power by a healthy margin. Chances are it will be a dead pick or a splash (since you have to rely on both colors not being cut to reliably be straight UG). However, Feast of Dreams and Deicide are too conditional for me to firs pick, and Magma Spray would likely be my next choice if Cockatrice weren't in there. 1-mana Shock goes a long way in this format, surprisingly, as it's a perfect defense against some of the broken heroic starts.
So are you just taking it because it's a rare? Feast of Dreams is in the same pack and hits 99% of the things Deicide does as well as stuff like a huge Wingsteed Rider. It's a far more powerful removal spell for the same amount of mana.

Feast covers the same voltron strategy that admittedly has won me nearly every limited match I've played in theros. A single timely feast on my unblockable 11/14 pegasus or w/e would have been close to backbreaking.
The bird dude is pretty dang cool but it does silo you into two colors and not for something really too bomby. I'd almost rather take the leucrota if I was looking for a big dude.

A bounce spell or Divine Verdict also answers that type of strategy. I mean Feast is fine don't get me wrong, but if your plan is to use it on a guy with 2-3 things bestowed on him the cost matters less. I prefer Magma Spray, since it answers most of the best 2-3 common drops in the format. Kill off wingsteed rider or akroan skyguard for R seems really good.
I think picking the bird is tempting but it does suck to move into two colors on pick one. Obviously its in green so that makes a 3 color deck more feasible, but it still is more of a risky pick. Especially since passing it along pretty much pushes the guy on my left into UG and/or black for the other removal spell.
It's Deicide, not "Decide". As in "Deus", god and "cidium", act of killing, which is also a suffix in homicide, regicide, and so on... Really, is reading that hard?
Cockatrice, no question. Both removal and threat and I've had good times with the GU archetype that has plenty of aggressively costed, evasive creatures.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Actually, the real power that makes deicide so good is that it exiles and not simply destroys. Yes, feast can hit more creatures and I would normally be tempted to take it. But Deicide exiles which makes it significantly more useful.

?? There's almost no cards in this set that care about whether it exiles or destroys. At common and uncommon there are just a couple of graveyard interactions and two tricks which could save it. Dealing with a wider array of threats is far more important.

If it was in Alara, it would have Exalted. Should have call it Clairvoyant Starfish instead.
