Before I start my rant on the deterioration of Black and Black/Green Reanimator/Dredge decks, I'll start off by saying I like the card. It's got a decent body for a three drop in the decks you want to play it in, likely Dredge, and can block some annoying fliers. It's an enchantment, and a creature. It's got the fabulous Dredge effect to help dump your cards in the graveyard from your library, and an additional clause to exile it in order to bring back any card from your graveyard to your hand.
It bothers me Wizards is so afraid of the graveyard. So much exiling is ruining a really fun archetype and a big piece of black's color identity...
Splinterfright with super, beautiful artwork, reach, Golgari colours, and an activated ability as well. Nice! At the moment, however, I can only really see Constellation/Pharika–style applications. I don’t think this fits into the current Standard Golgari pseudo–Dredge deck.
I can see this work in a Golgari Constellation deck. Something I'll be tinkering with for sure, it just seems so much fun. Might make it Junk for a few of White's tricks (the new O-ring, Sphere of Safety, Ethereal Armor come to mind). This seems like an enabler of Pharika in the end more then anything.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
That 3 toughness makes it fall just short of modern playable.
Yeah I would've loved to see this as a 2/4. Giant Spider has a legacy to protect though I think.
I do think this gets there. GB Constellation doesn't mind more dudes and Dredge could try this out as well. It's hard to argue with virtual card advantage on a reasonable body that blocks Nightveil Specter and can also Gravedigger for you.

How cool would this have been even as a 1/4 for 1BG or as a 1/2 for BG? The latter would likely make it rare material. Like some kind of bizarro dredgy spider-Bob.
It's just such a beautiful looking card!
I think everything we've seen from JOU for BG constellation is just not quite pushed enough.

Constellation itself isn't pushed enough, period. It's pretty clear that they were wary of introducing an enchantress-style archetype into modern, hence the overcosted and underfed creatures with the constellation mechanic.

Does anyone think there's a cost that the activated ability could have to be constructed playable? If so, what would it be?
