Yea, I am already reworking my esper control deck into bant control just because of Ajani, and your thoughts of him as a 2 of is just about right. It also opens up green sideboard options which mean I will also be running some BoG's cards finally which aren't lands haha
ALSO, I can really see Turbo Fog and Maze's End decks being on a big rise because like the last poster said, they are getting some big key cards for their strategy that they really needed to work. My only problem with this type of deck being tier 1 is the fact that boros burn is still a deck
You'd need to add some serious creatures into that bant list to make remotely worth-it use of Ajani.
Why is ajani a bad card for bant control when there are already going to be 42 permanents in the deck with the new o-ring that is going to be printed... I think the new ajani's +1 = look at the top 4 cards add 1 to your hand. I think it will prove to be a really good Super Friends deck in the end
Because without creatures you will only be able to search for planeswalkers and that is not good enough in a control deck. Lands and spells are the most important parts for control decks and he doesn't get you either.
This is a creature planeswalker. There is no way he is good in decks without them. Especially if you look at this other ability.
He also can grab the new o-ring and detention sphere. Post side he can also grab a lot of other valuable pieces like mistcutter hydra, and a few others.
Also with this deck he is also just as valuable at getting unneeded lands off the top of your deck, and if he does ultimate it will be about impossible for your opp to catch back up.
I honestly think UB draw could be a deck, too. Master of feasts Gets that much better when you flash in a notion thief at the end of their turn. Same with dakra mystic and dictate of kruphix
Its a potent interaction, but without more ways to make the deck reliable, I don't see it being a thing. Relying on a vulnerable 4 drop to provide card advantage and win games seems uncompetitive.
Oh it definitely wont be a t1 deck, obviously. But with cards like fate unraveler, and really cost efficient beaters it could definitely see some fun play for an FNM.
Maybe I just really like master of feasts more than I should. He just reminds me of abyssal persecutor when he was in standard. I know they're vastly different on the outside, but at the core they're both really early beaters that win you the game for being so cost efficient even with their down side.
Master doesn't have trample, sure, but there are also a LOT less fliers to trample over in this standard.
#dreaming.

There is no reason being friendly and being competitive can't be synonymous.

Don't forget archangel of thune, and angel of serenity. Both of which are already seeing play in BANT lists. And both of which are very viable in the new BANT lists as well. If you Drop an archangel of thune and give her +3 your opponent can't race that.
The main problem I see with BANT at the moment is it's ability to deal with stormbreath dragon main board.
