I like this guy a lot. He can put on early pressure, help against Verdict, and prevent a guy from blocking later on. Being a minotaur makes him cost zero with Ragemonger
Rules question: Does Ragemonger effect this guy's bestow cost? Not necessarily an important question, just thought I'd ask.
I wish I could be sure, but I think the answer is yes.
The "Spell" is a minotaur spell, even if you're casting it as an aura. So essentially, you're casting a 3B Minotaur aura spell which would still benefit from Ragemonger's effect.

This runs counter to the Hero of Iroas ruling, though.
i play minotaur tribal and the deck plays better as midrange than aggro...not sure it will be used there.

Applications for Minotaur tribal seem obvious. If it says Minotaur it's good to go.

This card is leagues above Loyal Pegasus, I have rarely seen Pegasus do major work in THS/BNG limited meanwhile 2/1's for 1 mana that can't block are usually quite decent. They are even better when in a mid-game situation you will randomly bestow this card instead of just casting it as a 2/1
This is definitely one of my favorite cards spoiled thus far. You have to like good aggressive creatures that scale mid/late game. Oh and of course, I REALLY want Minotaur tribal to be a thing.
There is nothing wrong with a 2/1 for B which can't block (it gives us 3 different 2 power mono black 1 drops in standard and 6 in modern) but add to that the fact it's a minotaur (which wizards seems to be pushing and which is a casual tribe favorite of many people) and the 3B bestow ability which makes it more relevant in the mid-late game and you've got a card that's sure to see a fair amount of play.
I think many people are underrating the bestow ability a touch because of the drawback it brings, but the actual times when it will be relevant are in the minority. If you are playing against a more controlling deck it will almost always be right to bestow, If you are playing against another aggro deck and are ahead on board position/damage it will be almost always right to bestow and If you have an evasive/trampling creature it will almost always be right to bestow onto it. It's really only if you are in a bad position and desperate for the ability to block that you should be avoiding bestowing this in the mid-late game.
Yes, hero of iroas's ability will reduce the cost of a bestowed creature. However, the question at hand was whether or not ragemonger's ability can reduce the cost of gnarled scarhide cast for it's bestow cost, since, as a creature, it is a Minotaur. However, you choose to cast it as a creature or an aura (which cannot be a creature type, since it us not tribal) before cost reductions are figured or costs are paid. When you go to figure cost reductions, it is an enchantment - aura. Ragemonger says, "nope!" And continues on raging.
I think the Bestow is much more relevant than people think.
First, it's a great fit into aggressive decks just as a 2/1 for 1. It's also been noted that it has the ability to disable a blocker, giving it double duty as a demi-removal spell.(in the type of deck where disabling a key blocker is huge.
However, I think that the Bestow might be used aggressively, even on turn 4. Let me explain. This is sort of a wrathproof haste. If you are attacking aggressively, this adds 2 to your attack on that turn, and leaves behind a 2/1 after the board is wiped. If they don't have blockers committed (because they are relying on sweeping next turn), then they are in for some disappointment.. Unexpected damage and post sweeper pain... He also fits well into the types of decks where this would be relevant.
After looking at this for a while, it's actually making me consider running less than four copies of Boros Reckoner. Currently I'm running no basic Swamps in my minotaur deck (Instead I'm running shocks and temples, which can all either tap for red or white) so that I can reliably cast Reckoner t3 while still running Mutavault. The ability to consistently cast this guy on T1 may be good enough to make running some swamps over some of the temples worth it, making Reckoner less good.
Probably not, really, but it's strong enough to make me consider it.

Thus Ragemonger's ability works on any Minotaur, counting Minotaur auras.

Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
I asked magicjudge on tumblr about this earlier, and she replied:
"No.
By the time you determine its costs, it’s no longer a creature spell, which means it’s not a Minotaur spell."
Noncreature Enchantments cannot have creature types unless it's a tribal enchantment.
A simple gatherer search of hero of iroas will tell you that the cost reduction works.
Feel free to tell me yours!
