Peregrination 3G
Sorcery - Uncommon
Seach your library for up to two basic land cards, reveal those cards, and put one onto the battlefield tapped and the other into your hand. Shuffle your library, then scry 1
I am dying for a Sorcery or Instant Green ramp spell like Cultivate or Rampant Growth. I am not sure if this is doing it for me. It is something that's for sure, but it has been awhile since a really efficient green ramp spell.
I can't and won't count Farseek because you a mono green deck could not use it. Unless they wanted to search for a Forest shockland.
(I can't believe I have to put this in here to avoid people from saying it^)
With a card like Kiora, the Crashing Wave, is Peregrination playable in Standard?
I would like to see a Cultivate reprint or similar, especially as Xenagod (and seemingly Kruphix from what we have seen) both want to be in a ramp deck. I actually expect to see some form of UG ramp spell for three. Maybe search for a basic island and basic forest, then put on in hand and other one battlefield tapped for 1UG. Would be far from farseek level, but would still allow for much more consistently reaching bigger drops. Wouldn't fix mana like farseek, but would ramp and help ensure land drops to allow you to play big spells like Mistcutter or Zegana.
Seek the horizon does not ramp, it only warrants your land drops....
for me, neither are good cards, but I still see Peregrination as the better one.
Peregrination is sadly the best straight land ramp card in Standard currently (not including Kiora). It's kind of sad because it's basically Cultivate for 1 more with Scry 1 stapled on (which isn't that terrible, since the Scry right after you shuffle is pretty useful). Still, for 3G, I would've preferred a reprint of Explosive Vegetation.
That's not to say that I won't be considering this card in any ramp deck that I build, but it wouldn't be an automatic shoo-in like Cultivate, Explosive Vegetation, or Skyshroud Claim (but that last one would be too good to be true).
As a connoisseur of fun, interesting matches, I still to this day have not been able to craft that "perfect deck"; the deck that I can play and have fun over time, doesn't get boring, but simultaneously is fun to play against. I honestly don't think it exists. It's like a unicorn. A ninja unicorn.
i can see Peregrination being a big player in the next Standard season.
1: it ramps you one land ; Check
2: it helps you fix your curve ; Check
3: it puts another card (land) in your hand ; Check
4: it helps you fix your next draw ; Check
the good sweepers are going with RTR block soo a ramp deck in the future is not imposible.
I'd challenge this. The only truly good sweeper from RTR is just a Day of Judgment variant. And we could easily see Day in M15. Plus, Theros sweepers aren't unplayble (for the most part). And hell, JOU could always hold surprises.

Ramp decks are possible now, they're just not Tier 1.

I'm officially proposing we retire the word "insane" from the MtG vocabulary.
