Stormcaller of Keranos 2R
Creature - Human Shaman
Haste 1U: Scry 1
2/2
So what is the general consensus on this card? Its clearly built to work in some way with Flamespeaker Adept and Aqueous Form, offering a good mana dump late game for U/R. I like that the effect doesn't require tapping, meaning one of these on the field is enough to get repeated scry. While the addition of haste is nice I feel it would still have been a fine card without it, especially if it meant we could have gotten it as a 2-drop.
I wonder if a scry-centeric deck may form when we get JOU? What are your opinions?
The ability is far too expensive for a constructed deck, but it seems quite fine in limited even without having combos. You do give up a lot of your flow to activate this once or twice a turn but when nothing else is going on its fine.

With the creature type, of course, being Human Shaman... So, no benefits there.
I don't believe there's been enough time to fairly assess the card and even reach a consensus.
It's not game-breaking, but it's not the worst card ever. That's easy to say. At worst, it's a Goblin Chariot. At its best, it could be what gives you the extra edge to win in those Limited games, in turns 7 or 8+, by sifting through the chaff.
1U feels a little steep to me, but on the other hand I think U wouldn't have been reasonable. I like her. 2/2 Haste for 2R is fine, and even one Scry 1 can make all the difference.
It sort of reminds me of Mad Prophet. It should be really good in Sealed though, where players are going to want to dig for their bombs during stalemates.
I really want to take the time to give this card its due, because a lot is due.
I ran through the Born of the Gods prerelease with this card in a Red-Blue aggro-control build and - simply put - when this card hit the table, I just won. Every time.
This card is amazing even by itself. I was able to pull off the combo with Flamespeaker Adept to deadly effect. Even without a beneficiary, though, The Stormcaller was just fantastic. Against many decks, it could drop and swing early and then I could sit back and scry removal, creatures, or whatever else I needed to the top.
This card will definitely live on as one of my favorite cards now. It allowed me to play my favorite colors at the prerelease to great effect and enabled me to pull so many shenanigans.
Thank you, Stormcaller of Keranos!!! This goes out to you!

Being able to scry like that at instant speed seems pretty good. Some kind of Izzet control? Anytime you have that two mana open at the end of their turn...
Weird card. Love it. Keranos is my homeboy.

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
I played this guy in a control oriented limited deck recently, and it was very nice! Playing control you rely on counter spells and instants, and you often keep mana open on their turn. This guy makes sure this mana never goes to waste. Being able to scry 1 before you draw is very nice. Also in any game with a stalled board, this guy jumps up in value.
but usually when I say that it means the card isnt amazing on its own lol
I like her though, pretty cute lil dude
KINDA wish it were a wizard....UR shaman is kinda awkward but eh no biggy

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.

Whoa, what? No, I don't mean it is going to be tearing up constructed tables in any format anytime soon. Not fantastic that way.
What I mean is that it gives you the ability to dig into your library without tapping. This is not a common occurring in Magic, and when it does happen, it's usually attached to bad cards. Treasure Trove or Idle Thoughts, for example. This one is attached to a totally decent size creature with a relevant ability.
This is a fantastic card because it's a unique combination that you will want to have around for cube and casual. It also has the potential to pop up later in some new brew as new printings come out, due to its unique nature.
