Currently blue control almost isn't viable without Supreme Verdict. WW is clearly weaker, but definitely does stem early bleeding while allowing you to reuse Omenspeaker.
(Meh - can't edit the title of the thread, should have [BNG] in there somewhere if a mod feels like changing it)
Blue's longstanding strength is it's instant speed response to problems that arise. They making it sorcery speed kinda kills the competitiveness of the card a tiny bit. To be fair if you are not playing against ramp decks its somewhat decent in stopping big monster decks. Although, It seems to be for people like myself who play casual monster decks using things like Shipbreaker Kraken, Stormtide Leviathan, Sealock Monster the new Tromokratis. Along with annoying cards like Venser, Shaper Savant and Archaeomancer.
Neat card but I think its more for EDH and casual players honestly.

Well it is an evacuation usually for 4 mana. Seems pretty decent. I could see this being viable as a sidboard card if you are on the play because nobody wants to replay their sylvan caryatid and elvish mystic when you get to replay your omenspeaker.
Methinks this would be busted at instant speed, even if a mythic. It's completely standard playable as-is, just needs a home. If Grixis finds it's footing it could be a contender there. Basically any deck that wants to play blue but not UW should be looking at this.

It is literally exactly what I wanted to find for my Krakens etc EDH, very surreal that they printed the exact! thing (huge wave that hits opponents and not me).
It's the cheapest they've ever had the effect (Evacuation and friends are all 5 or more), so maybe it'll be a thing beyond EDH.

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur

In a straight blue control deck this probably isn't going to cut it. However, in a UG ramp deck it could very well make the cut. Early in the game it stalls out your opponent. Late in the game it finishes your opponent in a one-sided manner.
It entirely depends on whether or not the big fatty creatures are viable in and of themselves.
This kind of effect it is generally quite strong and it is understandable why they made it a sorcery while costing 2UU although I wish they pushed it to an instant. Oh well. It may find a home in decks that don't plan to win with creatures (super friends, some silly combo), unless they print Psychatog again.
-Not instant speed.
-Most decks are weenies and will replay their board in a turn. worse against ETB or haste
-T5 has lots of dangerous cards like Stormbreath, or gods, etc. Tapping out to cast this without removal/counter is bad.
-All the good ramp except kiora so far, are dorks, so you're slowing yourself down by returning them all.
-You'r not gonna see any leviathans for 1-3 mana, although they could reprint kraken hatchling.
Should see some use, but far from amazing. Not pushed at all, but any sweeper will see some play. UB, grixis, or UR builds(if any of the them exist) will want this.
the leviathan would be high CC
I hope there is at least one 4CC serpent
Are there still five to go? I thought there were right eight per color in a small set. Anyhow, we need more serpents, krakens, and leviathans. Maybe an octopus too. They just need to be somewhat playable. I'm hoping we get a sea monster with tribute or octopus with tribute to make up for the loss of monstrous. Actually I just want a leviathan and a serpent.
This is a new word for me. I've heard of being overwhelmed and I've heard of being underwhelmed; never whelmed. Yes I'm borrowing this from Robin in Young Justice. I honestly didn't think it was a word.
What are the chances we will get a legendary serpent for Journey into Nyx? Also, this works pretty well in a UG ramp deck. Maybe nothing strictly devotion dedicated, but it is a sorcery speed board wipe at 4 mana, and in those colors you might have a creature that could stick around.

Legendary Serpent? Perhaps. Since the only other one is Taniwa in existence, its a pretty good excuse to make one. However, WoTC design serpents to be either high in cost or have the 'drawback' clause; sometimes both.
The best thing to hope for in Born of the Gods and Journey into Nyx is more playable "sea creature" types. In that way, this card would be more functional for those who want to make the "Sea Monsters" deck.

They're right back where they were and you're without creatures.

as it's probably GG if you cast this with a Kiora Kraken out.
Reprint Stasis!

maybe they can make uncommon ones, but do you guys think we will at least see a serpent, and a leviathan, in the least?
