I am new to box mapping but after doing some research and practice runs with my friend, we decided to buy a box and give it a go. Please note when we opened the box, the boosters where in perfect piles. Everything seemed good to go! Please see see results below.
I checked for pack deletion by writing the order 5 1 2 3 4 down on a bit of paper and going through making sure this order way obeyed throughout all columns. I think that is the correct way?
1st pack: L1 - Giant Adephage - Result M1 ([ACB])
2nd pack: M1 - Boros Reckoner - Result R1 ([DB])
3rd pack: R1 - Mystic Genesis -
Result R6 (A)
(A10) Obzedat, Ghost Council
(A41) Aurelia, the Warleader
4th pack: R6 - Aurelia, the Warleader
At this stage I thought great! 4th pack and we pulled decent Mythics.
So we planned our next move.. There were no D tracks uncovered so we went for
5th pack: L3 - Gyre Sage
We entered this into the program and it did not like it so we deleted it and tried another pack. There on after it most cards pulled were not even listed on the predictions. We managed to pull a Master Biomancer at R12 later which was a correct prediction.
I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this please as I want to buy another box but need to know if i'm doing something wrong.
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Many thanks.
You're entering after you reshuffled the packs, right? I don't think you're doing anything wrong. What packs did you pull after? What I got so far is attached. (it doesn't look wrong... yet)
After trying this with a different box mapper program it seems we got the correct results. It would not let us enter Gyre Sage into L3 but this new program does.. weird but ohh well at least I have learned now.
I will purchase another box soon and hopefully map it fully.
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a link to any posts regarding how they actually solve the maps? I'm very keen to find out about this and actually try some stuff myself. This stuff is very interesting.
James.
I have no idea how others do it, so this is probably baseless speculation, but I do love my baseless sepculation (as evidenced by previous posts).
This is how I believe it could be done:
First, you would somehow know tracks are 22 letters long (haven't figured this part out yet)
Then, you would look at a box, take a pack, and cards 22 packs later, in factory order, (assuming you didn't go outside of the box yet) that pack would be on the same track. So you would compile a large database with entries such as "CARD1 comes before CARD2" and then topologically sort them all (is that the right term?). Then I assume you would guess and check to fill out some blank spots. After this is complete, you would check to find the exact pattern from some boxes using your map (with arbitrary but unique labels). Of course, this is only a theory as I have never tried this before. If I'm wrong, let me know!
I am trying my second box of Gatecrash today with the mapper and could use some help. My first box accepted the sleeve order and about 7 packs in, which were all correct, it said it couldn't calculate any possibilities. I now have the following pack sequence:
514512 234512
421334 435123
512345 152345
The mapper can't accept the sleeve order, and I can't seem to determine a fix for it. Any help would be appreciated.
is it save to buy full sealed BOXES online or can they map out good/bad boxes in a case? like if I find a box for 90ish online can they predict it will be full of crap?

Everything looks good here too. In fact you didn't even have to manually fix the row shifting. Where did you run into problems?
