t: Add G to your mana pool.
Whenever you tap Zhur-Taa Druid for mana, it deals 1 damage to each opponent.
1/1
...And yes, you can use the ping to take out planeswalkers (especially Liliana of the Veil at 1 loyalty).
It's a little pricey for a mana dork, but a 1/1 unblockable guy that doesn't chunk up your tempo when tapping for mana and still stands around to block can't be that bad late-game.
Anyone else think this guy could be useful in Standard and beyond?
(Me, I can personally see this guy in Modern Twin Pod as a mana dork that helps win close races and keep planeswalkers honest.)
Make no mistake he will be played in Standard. The format desperately was missing a low drop that tap for a colored mana without having to jump through hoops, and this card gives you that option. It also freaking pings your opponent which is nutty. I love mana dorks, and I was giddy as all hell when I saw this card.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
Not to mention the fact that with an Orochi Leafcaller and Freed from the Real he provides us with a Turn 3 kill in Modern.
In a deck that, thanks to the Leafcaller, doesn't even need to run too many non-forest lands.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Not sure about standard as I would of thought if people wanted this they would already be playing Scorned Villager but it's a good card. Good with bloodthrist lol.
This card feels like it's playable, but I have my doubts. I can't think of a deck that needs both of its abilities. Aggro doesn't need mana dorks, and midrange doesn't need pinging. Whatever deck you throw it in, it just seems like you're better of playing some other 1-drop without the superfluous function instead.
Between this and Goblin Fireslinger you have 8 cheap ways to put quest counters on Quest for Pure Flame. Not sure why you'd bother messing around with Quest though. Maybe in some weird Manabarbs/Quest deck.

Alice is going to be a 4-of in Big Naya faster than you can say Think Twice.
