I just really want to use him in some type of Junk Midrange variant that doesn't rely heavily on tokens. Aside from the removal and Lingering Souls, he's a legit reason to go B.
It is like my old council, yet this is far more powerful and stronger and yet not quite same as old one. I hail our new council overlords!

After a bit more evaluation I believe the new BW angel is significantly better than this guy. My rational is, although she requires 1 more mana her cost will be easier to support because its not as color intensive as the Council. Further, her power and toughness are identical, she is evasive, unlike the Council AND she has a recursion ability, though it is quite clunky. If your looking for strictly a finisher, she's vastly superior to Obzedat. Looking for a more combolicious guy, Obzedat fits the bill.

I'm talking in euro, its not hard to buy Serenities for 7-8 eur each here on the street.
I just got the funniest picture in my head of someone walking down the street and a guy in a trench coat popping out of an alley with a whole bunch of Rare magic cards lining the inside of his coat.
That, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.

That seems far fetched and plausible at the same time. I would hope they would sell DVDs too so I could get a Ghost Dad combo: the movie and both cards

That's not an appropriate argument. I'm sure one could be made but that is disrespectful to me and anyone who cares. Explain to me how the mana investment is clearly better for the Council? Or how precisely you intend to deal damage against tokens especially when tokens will have as much or more life gain than you? What happens when you drop him and they play ultimate price and he's gone? The Angel has answers to these very real scenarios that require no additional help. How much do you plan to include in your deck to support your guy in these situations? The angel needs no help at all.
I'm waiting...;)

First off, Ultimate Price won't hit the angel OR Ghost Dad. Both are multicolored permanents. Secondly, Standard has a sincere lack of instant speed removal and while that will likely change with Gatecrash, part of Ghost Dad's appeal is that you simply cannot hit him with sorcery speed removal and he doesn't need to swing to deal damage. The mana cost is intensive, but you can stall on a clogged board and still make progress with him. Angel's recursion is, as you said, very clunky and most decks can find an answer to the token. While, yes, it is a pain to spend two cards to deal with it, it's just not quite as efficient as jamming 2-3 Ghost Dads in a deck, I feel. I see the points you're trying to make. But I'm personally of the belief that Ghost Dad is the better card. Which is a shame, because the art on the angel is awesome.

At the point she ETB, the ghost dad already gave a 8 life swing even without attacking.
When she is able to hit her first 5, Obzedat already drained 6 life (a big 12 life swing), and if wasn't blocked already hit for 10. Even his worst case scenario is better than her best scenarion.
And sadly, her recursion is very slow and mana intensive, you will need two turns to attack with her again. So Obzedat resilience is far more valuable.
Wow my bad your right. Why did I think it hit multicolored...Sorry.

On a serious note, that Pongify reprint is a knock on Obzedat. I was expecting answers to be released in GTC but not a one mana U spell.
Definitely. But I'm hoping for more than just that. Orzhov needs some removal! Granted, we still have nearly 200 cards to go, but W/B is such a strong combo for removal.

While the 3/3 can be a pretty serious drawback, there are certainly instances where you'd much rather have that on the other side of the table. I think there's a place for it. Certainly not as a 4-of, mind you.

i dont think that pongify is bad vs control. the only thing pongify is really bad against is aggro.
but i would always kill a angel of serenity against a 3/3 vanilla creature. or the council, or any other lategame cards..

You think putting yourself down a card against a control deck is a way to win the game? They get a free 3/3 and still get to keep control of the game.
Well, you have a warped market then. Angel of Serenity sells much closer to 13.
