I honestly am having trouble telling whether he's good or bad. A 1/1 for 1 is "fair", but he can keep getting bigger. On the other hand, he can't attack and get bigger, so that kinda sucks. And it costs mana to make him bigger (although it's a negligible amount of mana, and can be used in a draw-go style deck to make a threat bigger).
This card is a solid maybe. I highly doubt he'll work in standard, but he might work out in modern.
Worse than Steel Overseer, and that only saw play in dedicated decks.
It's a 1/1 for 1...that grows...without a drawback. Slumbering Dragon for instance? Situational. This card? Given enough time it will ALWAYS be a threat. That's important. That's generally actually a pretty good mechanic.
I think he's a good limited card. A 1 colorless for 1/1 that can get bigger every turn seems very solid.
It will certainly be a very good limited card. Early on he maybe hits for a damage. Then later he grows to become a creature they can't attack through. Then later still he becomes something they must deal with as he is a very fast clock.
I could easily see first picking this over a lot of cards. I'd need more practice, but I think I'd take it over the premium removal even.
I like it very much - flavor and the card itself. It's worse then levelers, because it becomes tapped every turn, but let's compare it with the best level up creature in white, Student of warfire
Chronomaton, 1 mana spend = 2/2, can't attack, Student of warfire, 1 mana spend, 1/1 can attack
Chronomaton, 2 mana spend = 3/3, can't attack, Student of warfire, 2 mana spend, 3/3 can attack
Chronomaton, 3 mana spend = 4/4, can't attack, Student of warfire, 3 mana spend, 3/3 can attack
Chronomaton, 4 mana spend = 5/5, can't attack, Student of warfire, 4 mana spend, 3/3 can attack
So, it's worse than Student, but you can pump it and then attack...
How about "You may discard your hand, pay 5 life, rip this card, remove 3 digits from any number of target fingers you control, and concede at the end of the next end step rather than pay It Will Go Through!!'s mana cost.
Counter target spell."

But the draw go pool is piling up things to do with excess mana at the end of the opponent's turn

Is what I do.

Infact I'd even go to lengths saying how this might nab a 1 drop spot in affinity over Arcbound Worker, and company

I like it.
