Now that the mist is clearing a bit on the colors, I think white is either equal, or stronger than black. Serra Avenger is a power house of a striker. It's set up to fit perfectly into a white Sligh deck, utilizing the perfect mana curve.
So, what would a standard white weenie sligh deck look like? I do not remember the average break down of 1 cmc, 2 cmc, 3 cmc, and 4 cmc (I do not think a deck of this calibur will need/want a card above a 4 cmc).
I, for one, am looking forward to getting this angel (since I have a TS place set, I can use her as trade bait).
So, am I on par w/ the strength of white in standard? I can also see a few nasty blue/white aggro-control decks getting a lethal boost (yes, refering to you, Geist of Saint Traft).
Looks like the angel theme has bleed into M13... now if only we can actually get a Serra card... THEE Serra, that is.
I think this followed by or following up a silverblade paladin would be a strong play in standard. Until rotation we have swords in the 3 drop range of boosts.
This is a most interesting reprint; while I still prefer the original Serra Angel, this creature is quite good also, although her drawback is rather significant. Therefore, I wonder, if a player controls a Vedalken Orrery or a Leyline of Anticipation, can they cast Serra Avenger during an opponent's first, second, or third turn of the game?
Also, the fact that Serra Avenger, Serra Avatar, and Serra Angel are all being reprinted in the same set makes me wonder if Serra herself, despite being dead, shall somehow be significant again in the story? Does anyone else wonder that?

In the magiccards.info rules notes, it actually says you can do exactly that.
That being said, I'm not sure how good she's gonna be in standard. The time she would normally drop down is also around the same time BETTER three and four drops also come on board, which is pretty rough. Still, interesting to see her back.
Serra avenger is awesomesauce. Glad to see her back.
I'm just a little scared they are making white TOO good.. mandatory to control, the best color pro play alone, best agre, best midrange... C'mon wizards! Magic has 5 colors, not 2!

I'm a Spike Vorthos - I love lore and flavor, but only if the cards are competition worthy.
Any turn you could attack with this, you'll walk right into a 3/4 flash angel. You want a flying body and to keep mana up for counterspells, which was the point of Serra Avenger in the first place, well then resto angel is your obviously superior choice. Resto angel beating this in combat completely hoses any chance it will see play the entire 15 months it's in standard.
Are there other uses? Even if sweepers are so bad that your aggro deck really does want to overextend on turn 4 by dropping this and something else the same turn, it still never gets past the other guy's 3/4, or even a lingering souls token, so why bother? Even if RW aggro were a deck, and you wanted to play this plus a burn spell which is probably better on turns 4-5 than two dudes, I'm still not seeing it. This was just really bad timing for a good card to return to an environment hostile to 3/3 fliers.
As for price, I watched last night and the initial price drop on TSP ones already occurred. Regulars dropped a few bucks, foils are down 5-6. Should be no more than a 2 dollar card in a few months, even that price being supported entirely by people whose legacy decks run both Dark Confidants and Aether Vials, a niche and unsuccessful archetype to begin with.
I won't be too fast to consider her on my Delver decks yet. Every cards on Delver builds synchronize well with one another; especially Resto and Snapcasty.
But I'll consider her on my other UW aggro and GW builds. Even my Boros decks -which are starting to look good- has a spot for her.

Gonna leave this account now cause many friends have access on this one and had posted in the past.

I wouldn't count her out yet. Remember Serra Avenger with an equipped sword can be beastly. And you can throw her down and equip on the same turn. Yes she loses to Resto, however there are plenty of other decks out there. Come RtR W/U delver could easily fall out of favor, especially if they print cards specifically intended to go against it (like the new dragon).
Although I sincerely love this card, and enjoyed playing it in TSP, I feel as though it is going to be difficult to find a deck for her. Resto is serious competition for her in most decks--AND is easier to splash. I'm not saying that avenger won't have a home, but I have not really been able to think of one for her as of yet.
