This thing seems pretty sweet, it doesn't help you die to doj any less hard but think of all the gobbos. At least its another excuse to sleeve up goblins tribal forever.

Magic players have made it abundantly clear that their time is worth $0/hour in their opinion, so no sympathy there. -DR jeebus or something
Tournament wise I'd have loved it to have haste or make tokens when it came in, but it's very awesome as is so I can live with it staying on the casual spectrum.
There is a huge difference between 4 and 5 mana and being in the tribe that just happens to have haste as a common lord effect.
If something like goblin warchief comes along the window where m12 and m13 is legal could be very interesting.
You still have Goblin Chieftain. You could go turn 1 Goblin Arsonist, turn 2 Krenko's Command, turn 3 Chieftain, turn 4 Krenko and make 5 2/2s with haste, bringing you up to 9 2/2 goblins and the 4/4 Krenko. I know this is goldfishing, but that seems pretty powerful.

Trust me im well aware it just gets a little easier to live the dream though with one more lord

If Goblin Chieftain or some guy that gives Haste shows up in M13 it'll be fringe playable. With a Chieftain and, say, one other goblin and Krenko, you crank out three 2/2's that coming in swinging. Unfortunately a bad Bloodline Keeper isn't what goblins wanted because four mana is too much in most cases, but it's honestly not terrible. Goblin Piledriver would probably be enough to make me play Goblins (especially with Goblin Grenade still in for a little while :D) and I'd probably run Krenko as a 2-of to feed the Piledriver and recover after a Wrath. I'd even consider it as an option against decks running Wolfir Silverheart. It can buy you time against a fatty to find your last GG (Goblin Grenade). It get a two out of five from me... but I'm a sucker for goblins so I might play 'em.
It's certainly unique that goblins can profitably chump block with this guy...??

Switch Krenko's Command with Goblin Wardriver and you'll make 4 3/2s when they swing. So, the 4 tokens, Arsonist, and Chieftan are 3/2s and Wardriver is a 3/3 when they swing. So 21 damage ain't bad for Turn 4.

Krenko, Mob Boss has inspired me so much id like to throw around a few thoughts. The way Im looking at it is you can drop him on turn two... or even on your first turn! All you need is acceleration and we luckily have Infernal Plunge to ramp the Boss out on turn 2. Now if you want to speed things up a bit you can use cards like mox opal functioning with memnite, Chimeric Mass for 0 and Signal Pest deserves a mention sense he can help our swarm plays as well, ya know? With these artifacts we now can use Kuldotha Rebirth to help Mob Boss make more goblins and you know how the saying goes the more the merrier. With that in mind battle hymm starts to shine. Speaking of shine is that a fire over there? no its Burn at the Stake tapping all these goblins we just made giving us a sweet kill! Now if you really love ramp you can even play with Geosurge to bust out Chancellor of the Forge. But if offense is more your thing use contested war zone, pestermite, Goblin Wardriver, Goblin Chieftain, and for laughs Banners Raised. On top of all that red now has some filtering with desperate ravings and faithless looting and you can even splash U for more card draw and to get the most out of ravings and phantasmal image on a Chiefain could be cool?...
Sooo yeah i think that covers just about everything on my mind sorry if this is just a wall of text
I think he could be played in legacy goblins allowing turn 4 swing for 20-40...doesn't seem bad some overextending but if you hit turn 2 with a lackey you can pretty easily lay this guy down+any haster and play the grind game with goblins but expanding your board by 3 exponentially each turn. Will it be the end all goblin lord...doubtful but he could be fun and can help race sneak and show and combo decks successfully actually but comes with variance and is much worse without haste.
Hmm he could be hilarious in burn at the stake combo kuldotha deck to run this+chieftains+molten psyche some rituals and normal suite for kuldotha.
He may be best in a midrange deck. I'll have a think and see if I can come up with anything. Getting him active automatically is really important. They certainly didn't push him.

He's not pushed but I don't see why it's so terrible to have a 4 drop at the top of the curve, especially if we eventually get 2 haste giving lords like some of us hope. If it weren't for the haste enabling I'd agree completely though. He could have midrange potential with grenade and burn at the stake but with the right goblins he could just be a nice way to round off the goblin offense.
Well designed card that's near perfect for the archtype, and ravnica promises to deliver some more goblins one way or another.
Well, it can can just a few Goblins into a game-winning board position. And having a lot of goblins out really shouldn't be much of a chore for goblins.
I think this guy is just flat out awesome
It's great to see another Goblin printed that generates some kind of card advantage, that's something Goblins players haven't seen since Lorwyn. I'm sure he'll be played somewhat in Standard, not sure about his applications in Legacy (since Goblin Ringleader tends to fill up the 4-drop slot in Legacy Goblins decks), but I know that I've already got a slot ready for him in my Commander Wort, Boggart Auntie deck.
He works great with so many cards in that deck, from Shared Animosity for massive attack swings to Skullclamp for drawing tons of cards. Krenko is totally sweet for a Commander format goblins deck, and if you just wanted to go mono red you could even use him as your commander. Way to go WotC! This is one goblin I majorly approve of

word to this
this card is better in almost every way.
It costs 1 less mana
It affects a more relevant tribe
It can do something by itself
It doesn't require a sacrifice
he does make me want to play goblins not really a huge fan of them normally but he is really cool.
will be pretty cool in EDH. despite the plethora of boardwipes.

I am so happy to see such a solid Goblin be printed.
Hopefully we'll see even more goblins! Seems like (at least lore-wise) Goblins will play a role in the RTR block.
