I don't know about the rest of you, but when I see new synergies and/or combos after a set is released, I either make new decks, or revise current ones.
So, with the set being completely spoiled and the pre-release looming over us, I ask all of you this:
What synergies and/or combos do you see in:
A) Block constructed
B) Standard
C) Extended
D) Modern
E) Legacy/Vintage
I figured if we pull our inellect together, we can help integrate Avacyn Restored into the formats much more efficiently, that just peppering our current decks with cards.
NOTE: Can EVERYONE please put all cards in [card.]-[/card.] tags so when others view this post they do not need to dig in other places. I am just asking for a convenience to tohers. Thanks - OP.
(Standard) Noxious Revival + Looting outlets (Faithless, Tibalt?, or the new land) + Miracles
(Legacy) Brainstorm + Miracles (the Lava Axe one seems the best, U/R Burn anyone?)
(Standard) I have a feeling W/U flicker cards are gonna be nuts
(Standard) Lone Revenant + Gideon + Tamiyo (many people are gonna lose to this, Lone Revenant is my #1 sleeper pick, this guy is awesome.)
(Modern) Sigarda is gonna start showing up in Bant and be a house.
(Standard) Gisela + Frites is gonna be scary
Just a couple thoughts, I could be totally wrong (in fact I usually am.)
Restoration Angel could be pretty great in Melira-Pod.
There may be enough synergy to make some form of Descent into Madness/Misthollow Griffin deck in Standard.
I also feel like there could be some good Tibalt/Grim Lavamancer synergy in standard.
That's all I can think of at the moment. :/

I'm gonna build a really quick Naya Human build with Druid's repository and Primal surge. I'd probably throw in craterhoof behemoth for the lulz. These together correctly reads
"you win"
Unless Craterfhoof was THE first card you got then your gonna get an insane buff on the creatures already on the field beforehand and a massive AND I MEAN MASSIVE trampling card. And the way weenie token decks have been running they could possibly set this thing off turn.......i'd say 4-5.
Turn 1: Avacyn's pilgrim
Turn 2: Druid's Repositiry
Turn 3: Champ+red human that gives haste(forget the name) Attack with 3 for 5 damage.
Turn 4: Swing with 3 again to bring durid's repository up to 6. Then tap 4 land (assuming you didn't miss a land drop) for 10 for Primal surge. They better have a hell of a wrath or you win next turn.
(Legacy) New Dream Halls + Conflux kill:
Search for Doubling Season, Force of Will, Progenitus, Progenitus, Conflux
With FoW backup, pitch Progenitus to Conflux and search for Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, Blood Tithe, Breath of Malfegor, Progenitus, Conflux
Pitch Progenitus to Doubling Season, then pitch Progenitus to Tamiyo
Tamiyo ETB with 8 loyalty counters on her, so ult her immediately
Pitch Breath of Malfegor to Blood Tithe ad nauseam
If Blood Tithe or Breath of Malfegor gets exiled by Tormod's Crypt or friends in response to the "return to hand" trigger, pitch Conflux to the surviving one ad nauseam
(Note this kill does not target, kills from arbitrarily high life totals, dodges most graveyard hate, and has only 2 entirely dead cards if you splash black)
That's an absolutely ludicrous amount of option available for copying your spells on demand - except wait, there's more! There's a new enchant creature aura that gives a creature the ability to copy spells. and you can put it on a creature that can untap itself. Me, I don't think that'll work so I left it out.
Still, reverberate, increasing vengeance, and big boom spells make me happy. I intend to try and make it work. I'll let you guys know how bad it sucks later. hehe.
Have a unbonded Nightshade Peddler plus Ulvenwald Tracker plus any token producing cards or a Reassembling Skeleton equals inifinite spot removal. This works by bonding Peddler on a token or the skeleton that comes into play making then gain Death touch then using the fight with Ulvenwald so that it can fight any of your opponents creatures.
#1 - What's the dumbest idea you ever had?
#2 - 15/15 for 15?
#1 - Make it dumber
#2 - Give it protection from removal and counter?
#1 - DUMBER!
#2 - Add Timewalk?
#1 - DAMN IT MAN, I SAID DUMB!! DUMB !!!
#2 - It destroys everything when it attacks.... And wait, I have a friend who plays mill decks... I want to beat him too.
#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.
(Pauper) Ghostly Flicker targeting Cloud of Faeries and Mnemonic Wall, then Cloud of Faeries' ETB trigger targeting two Karoo lands (e.g. Azorius Chancery) and Mnemonic Wall's ETB trigger targeting Ghostly Flicker. This produces infinite mana and infinite Storm count. I swear this works with some degree of consistency (at least in the slower Pauper format). With your infinite mana, make Ghostly Flicker target Mulldrifter and Mnemonic Wall instead for infinite card draw. Kill them with Grapeshot or something (Temporal Fissure is the staple, but why that when you can go infinite?).
While on the way to getting Mnemonic Wall, Ghostly Flicker targeting Cloud of Faeries and Mulldrifter goes surprisingly far digging-wise.
Wouldn't you rather exile/re-enter (read: untap) the Pod, so you can instakill your Angel again for whatever 5-mana-dude you wish for (and that's in the deck)?
Or Deadeye Navigator and Peregrine Drake/Faeries and a Karoo. This obviously won't work in pauper, due to rareguy over there, but in, say, EDH or wherever.

Restoration angel only blinks non-angel creatures.
I think I may have said this before. and iTs a bullcrap combo that would NEVER work it seems. but this is a synergy that might make you win the game in Modern if you can get it with a ramp deck of some kind.
though its a three card combo with 2 five costs involved. but hey. If you ever get it to wokr then you will have gotten it to work. and Honestly It might just be easier to just do Doubling Season + Karn Liberated and win.
It's nothing game-breaking, but Treacherous Pit-Dweller pairs nicely with Mimic Vat. You curve out 2-drop into 3-drop, swing with the demon and just exile it if it dies, so your opponent never gets it. Then you have a sweet creature imprinted on the Vat early in the game too.
If you can manage to get Tamiyo, the Moon Sage's emblem out, Thought Scour essentially becomes an Ancestral Recall for yourself. So... that's pretty neat.
It’s like the universe screams in your face, “Do you know what I am? How grand I am? How old I am? Can you even comprehend what I am? What are you, compared to me?” And when you know enough science, you can just smile up at the universe and reply, “Dude, I am you.”

2 cards, 8 mana, 20 damage.
You have to draw the miracle to pull it off crazy like, but hey, that's a cool combo, and more importantly, Reverberate and Chandra, the Firebrand are in format.
