I considered Avenger of Zendikar, but I'm not running sac-lands in my list, so I think I'll get more mileage out of the wurm. Plus, clearing their board is pretty awesome. I'm also considering Sunblast Angel as an alternate in the Sun Titan spot.
Play Stoneforge Mythic from your hand, give him the sword, and swing for brutalizing damage.
On that note, I could see something like this being a fun deck.
T1 - Forest, BoP
T2 - Forest, Lotus Cobra + 2CMC creature/artifact (Porcelain Legionnaire?) (BoP mana + 1 land = Cobra, Tap 1 land = 2 mana w/ Cobra.)
T3 - Plains, Float BoP mana, cast Birthing Pod, use extra mana from Lotus Cobra to activate Birthing Pod. Get Myr Superion. Cast Stoneforge Mystic from hand using floated mana, get Sword of Feast and Famine. Swing w/ Porcelain.
T4 - Land, Place sword with Mystic, attach sword, use the 4 other mana for a creature/spell. Swing with fatty superion + porcelain, or trade porcelain for Thrun, the Last Troll.
This seems like it could be a fun strategy. Not a new Caw-Blade, but fun. =D
I like the idea. I'd make sure to add some utility and ways to abuse birthing pod.

Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD
Myr Superion is good, but I wouldn't run more than 2-of. It's a dead card if you don't draw Birds, Joraga, Birthing Pod, or whatever.
He's referring to Myr Superion, not Birthing Pod. I find your comment about reading being useful pretty funny.. I was referring to running more than 2 of Superion.

Myr Superion in a Birhting pod Deck is horrible. If you're so lucky to Draw it...you can only hope to have a mana creature to play it. Plus, with the pod, you can only seach for it by saccing a 1 cmc creature.......so..blah

Most birthing pod decks need a game plan for when they don't draw Birthing Pod, or a game plan to find it. There is a ~1/4 chance of not drawing a Birthing Pod by turn 10, which means a 25% of not really being in any particular game.
I'm guessing this is a budget build... since no one has mentioned vengevine in a GR build... imagine this:
T1: Birds of paradise
T2: Birthing Pod
T3: Priest of Urabrask -> Sac to pod get vengevine wich you can sac next turn if you need to, also priest is very usefull with vengevine since you basicly get the first creature of the turn for free.
Also for more silliness trow a precursor golem + Goblin Bushwhacker next turn (Sac vengy for golem play 2 cheap creature + Bushwhacker or Priest + Bushwhacker).
I know its kind of a nut draw... but non of those cards are dead... (Also if you insist on playing Myr superion the priest can help you with that XD)
what good is glissa though if you have mainly creatures in your deck and no artifacts? i would suggest if you use it with her in it that you use a plethora of artifact creatures.
Birds of Paradise
Overgrown Battlement
Blade Splicer
Master Splicer
Sensor Splicer
Brutalizer Exarch
Maul Splicer
Having fun with my proxy golem deck! :3
Joraga treespeaker
Nest Invader
Viridian Corruptor
Vengevine
Acidic slime
Primeval Titan
Pelakka Wurm
Terrastodon
Just in green.
If you add other colors, it gets complicated. Like I am a fan of sacing Primeval for a Novablast Wurm..

it is, but unless I have fresh meant or beast within in my hand I don't want to risk all of my golems mid game.
Birds of Paradise
Stoneforge Mystic / Viridian Emissary
Roc Egg / Blade Splicer
Hero of Bladehold / Phyrexian Obliterator
Precursor Golem / Baneslayer Angel
Sun Titan
Novablast Wurm

With Birthing Pod, you won't have to. =]

Myr Superion is most certainly not worth a slot in a Birthing Pod deck that isn't devoted to getting plenty of creature-mana to hardcast the thing.

My ideal pod order is
but...is not viable right?
Pod should stop at cmc 3-4. You cant expect the pod or your creatures to survive like 5-6-7 turns to end your chain.
(Or, preferably, don't.)
I'd go turn 3 (with help of bird or elf, of course): Moltensteel dragon
Turn 4: Gaea's Revenge
Someone crushed me in sealed today by birthing Molten-Tail...
T1: Birds of paradise
T2: Birthing Pod
T3: Priest of Urabrask -> Sac to pod get vengevine wich you can sac next turn if you need to, also priest is very usefull with vengevine since you basicly get the first creature of the turn for free.

Bloodghast -> Viridian Corrupter
Bloodghast -> Glissa the Traitor
Valuetown, population me.
