Trinket Mage has a lot of new friends with his new reprinting, and I could see him spawning a new control archetype for standard. Cards off the top of my head to go with the deck:
Chimeric Mass: You can fetch him early and save him for later, or use him as an early chump blocker. You could also drop him for metalcraft, if a decent enough card shows up for the deck.
Brittle Effigy: While 4 mana is a little steep, it's always easily findable with the mage.
Everflowing Chalice: It's already being used in some control decks, if trinket mage is used it's an auto include.
Mox Opal/Expedition Map: Both are comparable, and mana acceleration is always nice, but I'm not sold on them yet. Maybe a split between the two on account of the Mox's legendary status?
These cards could form the basis of a toolbox. If you were to go UW Control with the deck you could use Vener as well, Which also happens to be good with Trinket Mage. Sun Titan also returns any of the above cards to play.
So what do you think? Will Trinket mage spawn a new deck altogether or just modify UW control as it is?
Whether it'll end up being competitive or not, I don't know. I do know, however, that I'll be trying to make it happen regardless -- I absolutely love decks like that. If it's good, so much the better; but I'll be going there anyway.
Don't forget that you get some cool equipments with him as well... Basilisk Collar.
you could always throw one or 2 in there. I think trinket mage will see oodles of play in standard and possibley extended.
Something with the the 0/4 for U from Zendikar, the new blue lord that lets you tap blue guys for mana6, trinket mage and chimeric mass would be sick.
Turn 1 Island 0/4
Turn 2 Island, pass, (maybe mana leak or something)
Turn 3 Island Blue lord, tap him and 0/4, make a chalice for 2
Turn 4 Island Trinket mage, fetch chimeric mass, cast to make a 9/9 (or 8/8 and have a blocker)
I think you answered your own question. Yes, there will be TM/Toolbox decks. We need a little bit more information before we can say how good they'll be.
The examples already given show it was a well chosen reprint. I want to see what kind of creature fetch/bounce we get first.
It works pretty well, Origin Spellbomb makes a good defense/draw engine.
Venser blink Trinker and makes him tutor more stuff or Aether Adept to clean boring bad guys from opponent, Wall of Omens to draw Sun Titan.
Sun Titan makes everything recursive (fun on Spellbomb/Walls) and can be blinked too when you have him in game.
I don't often use effigies, but against flying guy, they are usefull.
Just hope the blue spellbomb will be good =)

Typo on the Aether Adepts?
NM, looks like either you fixed it or my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Also, as far as recycling goes B gives you access to Grim Discovery

Legacy/Vintage: Sneak Attack!, Reanimator, SuiBlack, Painter's Grindstone
Standard:Mono-Black midrange, BW Vamp-Blade
Extended: Mono-Black Vampires, Faeries
EDH: Jhoira, Glissa (In progress), Kaervec the Merciless.
Liliana Vess Collection count: 91 and 8 Liliana of the Veil
We may wait Spellbombs =)

Seems totally reasonable.
I don't really love the idea of playing him in a deck that runs DoJ.
I see him fitting into a Next Level Bant style deck where he can even grab a memnite to recur your vengevines.

Sure, I wait new things to complete (like blue Spellbomb), but here is the prototype:
4 Wall of Omens
4 Trinker Mage
4 Aether Adept
3 Sun Titan
4 Venser, the Sojourner
Trinker's Toolbox
4 Blue Spellbomb
4 Origin Spellbomb
1 Basilisk Collar
2 Mox Opal
2 Brittle Effigy
4 Everflowing Chalice
Lands
4 Celestial Colonnade
4 Glacial Fortress

I'd like to see Blue Spellbomb fast btw =)
If it bounce a creature, it could be fun!
