As for the deck itself, Rector is one of those old school cards people avoid killing like an old granny crossing the street, because the card's death, like any granny, is extremely punitive. She needs a sac outlet like Cabal Therapy. which also helps to give you board control.
Stuff Doll doesn't seem to really do much here, and it's way slow. I think rather than a "life theme," going with an enchantment theme with cards such as Yawgmoth's Agenda or as suggested earlier Necropotence can work for effective demand in power.
