No. It's not playable, not for a serious deck anyways. I'm honestly starting to wonder if anything from Rise of the Eldrazi is going to see serious tournament play. Everything seems like fodder for Timmy casual gaming.
Agreed, with what I've seen of RoE it sure looks like it. I'm holding out for SoM, now that will be exciting
Yes, but this is nothing like affinity. This is an eminently answerable creature on turn 4+, maybe very rarely on turn 3.
Yes, it reads answer-me-or-die, but I feel like if you're building a deck to throw down something like that early, you can find something that is either less dependent on already having a good board position or something that is also difficult to remove, and which might be less conditional for getting out for when you DON'T have good board position.
I actually like the design of the card, but I don't see it being constructed playable.
first off: im relatively new to mtg, and mostly play EDH.
i run both him and Terra Stomper in my Yisan, the Wanderer Bard deck, and i think both are honestly good cards. yes, terra stomper cant be countered; thats definitely a point to him.
BUT what im surprised about, no ones mentioned Yeva, Nature's Herald. i Yisan a few times, (assuming Khalni in hand), by the time i can Yisan for Yeva, ill probably have 8+ green creatures on board. and then i bring out a 0 cost, instant speed, 8/8 emergency blocker (plus buffs/pumps if applicable).
just my two cents; if this isnt a good play or smth please, like i said, im new, so i would love input!
How do you end up in a 7 year old thread and bump it without noticing the dates?

Any card that needs other cards to work will NEVER make it into T1 decks, unless it says: "I win".

This is going to die down to be a 10 cent rare, or however low they go. On MODO it'll be worth a little more just because of set redemptions.
