gaddock teeg anyone?
It's no more confirmed now then it was when people first 'orbed it. The only difference is that it's been put on the spoiler. However, if it is being reprinted (and it seems pretty likely) then I'm really happy.

Saemar is not a wizard, is not fighting on a battlefield and is not casting spells.
I'm pretty surprised they put it in there based on Orb results... this early in the spoilings... there could be plenty of reasons for all of those words without being MM.
Ok this will be awesome if its true (Not saying its not, just not totally convinced). I think what would happen if it got reprinted is that Fae would start wreaking havoc again. They would play this card and against any red deck name Volcanic Fallout. 5cc would probaly name the new Cranial, and any deck that runs the colors really wouldn't have to worry about that one spell that totally destroys them. All I know is that I am ok with that because the creature is totally awesome and if true this set looks like it is going to be one of those broken sets which I like.:)
Really? It's not gonna be broken at all in standard. Honestly I find it hard to see it in any decks right now. Might help facilitate a new deck, but it wouldn't even fit into current ones

Understand, Dredge is not really a Magic: The Gathering deck. When a card is playable in it, it doesn't mean it's a tournament playable card. It means it's playable in whatever crazy fantasy world that Dredge operates in.
Meddling Mage is surprisingly analogous to Tidehollow Sculler in its actual play application - you use it to stop the removal that would be used for it. So basically it's just another bear that works to protect itself. Strong, but not broken in the slightest.

So, unless this is an entirely bizarre series of coincidence and chance, Meddling Mage will see print again. Note, though, that this is not at ALL like the rumored Tolarian Academy reprint rumor in Time Spiral. The people who started the rumor overlooked the brazen fact that Tolarian Academy is on the reserved list, and couldn't possibly be reprinted. Given the evidence, I think the rumor is essentially confirmed.
Back when Invasion was standard legal. I really didn't find any use for this guy. When I name Flame tongue Kavu, my opponent will just Urza's rage it. When I name Urza's rage, he'll just Fire/Ice it.
I guess this will be really interesting when Silence from M10 shoes up.
Ok, ok, despite that I still see no point in it until it's offical, I'm gonna give my take on it.
Right now in Standard there are very few things that make him useful. Every deck has a way around him. Plus back in the day MM was mainly used to short out combo decks, which right now there is a whopping none. Not to say that he's useless, but he will have much less of an impact on standard unless Zendikar brings us some wacky tourney viable combo. Sure he's a good card, sure, everyone can be all "OMFGWTFBBQASSHAT" over him but I do not think he is going to be the highlight of the set like everyone is making him out to be...
I mean look on eBay, they're preselling ARB versions before offical confirmation... that's going a little too far...

official rules advisor. it gets me there.
I think my U/W reveilark deck just squirmed a little bit.
I bought a playset for $40, They're sitting in front of me.

Oh yeah, and Reveilark to bring them all back when they're dead. Man I can't wait till Lorwyn rotates.
Akuma will wreck you.
But wait, I won't rejoice just yet... I'll have to wait for a 100% confirmation before I set aside my budget..

Bant/Dark Bant???
Edit: Not broken in Standard. You'll need to Meddling mage removal or you'll wind up with it getting removed.
Post rotation, if Combo or Control seems to make a comeback, it'll do better. Meddling Mage isn't great against agro.
MM was best against formats where combo decks were very relevant. And standard doesn't have targets like Mindslaver, Mind's Desire, Tendrils of Agony, Oath of Druids, Flash, etc.

The word "Meddling" appears 2 times in the set (fits the instance in the title and the game text of Meddling mage).
There is no other card in magic (beside Meddling kids from Unhinged) with the word "Meddling" in it.
the word "named" is used only once in ARB. the only other gold cards with "named" in their game text are:
Boris Devilboon (Legends)
Conjurer's Ban (Guildpact)
Dementia Sliver (Time Spiral)
Demigod of Revenge (Shadowmoor)
Hazezon Tamar (Legends)
Isperia the Inscrutable (Dissension)
Rohgahh of Kher Keep (Legends)
Stangg (Legends)
Tolsimir Wolfblood (Ravnica)
We know that Demigod of Revenge can't be in the set because it's hybrid.
Boris Devilboon, Hazezon Tamar, and Rohgahh of Kher Keep are on the reserved list, so they're out.
Dementia Sliver will definitely not be reprinted, as Slivers would be totally out of place with the block theme.
Conjurer's Ban, Isperia the Inscrutable, and Tolsimir Wolfblood would be almost impossible to reprint, since they were designed for the guild theme of the Ravnica block.
Stangg is not in the orb, hence he is eliminated.
So, unless this is an entirely bizarre series of coincidence and chance, Meddling Mage will see print again. Note, though, that this is not at ALL like the rumored Tolarian Academy reprint rumor in Time Spiral. Stop global warming now, or all of the Snow Lands will become just plain ol' Lands.

This is awesome, and I dub this deck Gummi Bears.
