With the Redcap you can even use the stack to your advantage to get a little extra damage out of the Goblin Assassin. When your Redcap persists back into play you can put the "comes into play" ability on the stack, make your Quillspike bigger, and have your 2/2 Redcap deal 2 damage to target creature or player—and you can do it all again and again.
Is it humanly possible to shove a Quillspike into Project 420.5n, Taking Major advantage of the Redcap + Juniper Order Ranger + Gargadon Combo? YES! Think about the Stack insanity for a moment...
BUT for a split Second he still has a -1/-1 counter on him, Then is When you trigger the spike, Thus removing the -1/-1 Counter, so when the Ranger Triggers he becaomes a 3 Power Redcap, Fliging that damage at target of choice....

Yeah, all you're doing is dealing infinite + infinite damage, which is still inifinite damage. It's just an unnecessary addition. It's cute in the Devoted Druid combo decks, but here it doesn't do anything in addition to what the deck itself already does.
but he can be used to help actually bring the gargadon in by taking counters off the redcap which also lets you deal more damage. It isn't infinite, but it makes the deck less reliant on multiple colors. I'd say a mono black version might be in the making. not that that adds consistancy considering the state of today's manabases
I've been thinking a bit about this deck (as most have probly), and Aphotic Wisps could be a good addition- at worst its a cantrip, at best it wins the game.
i still think this is just one of my fave combos next to gilder bairn ('cause i play such casual decks that i would play one with gilder bairn ^^), but this will definitely beat the tar out of a lot of decks i can think of.

SBEs are checked before you get priority. You will never have the opportunity to remove the -1/-1 counter with the Quillspike.
Not to mention that this is a completely win more situation.

what would be nice is Flourishing defenses, but it would add stability late game along with persist creatures like Kitchen finks. Pitch the combo in, but have other cards that you're opponent is going to hate and just mess with him hardcore.

Anyone think of doing it with Red? Look at the options: Simian Spirit Guide to put Druid out turn 1 then Quillspike turn 2, then turn 3 kill. Play Summoner's Pact and you can pay for it turn 3 and still go infinite.
Yea, the deck is all about the bombo combo, but do you think this is consistent enough to run it? Has 8 searchers, 12 ways to clear creatures out, and even Fury Charm to get the trample. It's probably relying too much on Quillspike FTW, but if you play Quillspike with Devoted Druid and it resolves, there's little they can do to stop the Quillspike (they could have to aim their kill at the Druid). So yea, it's pretty shaky. Maybe White to give protection? I dunno. Just throwing it out there.
EDIT: With Red you could throw in Crimson Wisps to give haste and cantrip. Seem like if you're going the combo route, that red gives you best second options. Green finds it and red makes it work.

I'm not familiar with the rest of the deck, but perhaps adding Quillspike would add some redunancy + consistency to it.
If you need to use a card to give it trample anyway why not just use Rite of Consumption and avoid any unnecessary risks in combat

Player 1 gains a billion or so life, so it's still "GG".
All you have to do is put gift of the deity on your devoted druid like so:
Turn one: forest
Turn two: forest, devoted druid.
Turn three: forest, Quillspike.
Turn four: go infinite with quillspike and devoted druid. tap 5 mana and enchant devoted druid with gift of the deity. untap devoted druid. Swing with an infinite/infinite quillspike and a 0/2 "lure" creature.
