I don't buy it. Although it's got a bit of appeal since you can attack all out and still reanimate something to block their alpha strike with, I'm seeing it as I see the others - a win-more card.
Um, wow, Debtor's Knell just got replaced in every deck its played in.
The two aren't very comparable. Knell is an awesome trump against control strategies that can't remove enchantments. The dragon is a win-more card. Teneb is terrible.
Although Vorosh isn't too terrible. If he connects and uses his ability, he deals the same amount of damage as White Akroma in the same amount of time.

....actually Akroma deals 12 in the same amount of time.
EDIT: Unless you meant if he connects twice. Then yeah, he deals the same ammount of damage.
No first strike, vigilance, pro red or pro black or trample though, so he *might* still be worse
I like these dragons. Overkill has a very important place in multiplayer. Strike down one guy with this guy and swipe a fatty from the guy you're planning to kill last.
I smell a casual Ur-Dragon deck that uses this guy to bring back the other dragon Legend you just smacked someone with. Scion would make for a lot of interesting options in the Land of Large Life Totals, Oros to clear the board, Vorosh to make Ur-Dragon a base 10/10, Intet, if you want to try to get a free dragon, the red one to... don't know yet, and then Teneb to bring back the most applicable dragon (Oros for clearing the board, Vorosh for lopping heads.)
Unlike Vorosh, if Teneb hits, nonWrath removal still leaves you with a threat.
Might I remind everyone that Rith, the Awakener actually saw competitive play. Yes, the abilities are frequently "win more", however, they're still 6/6 fliers for 6. The ability is just gravy if it's needed and/or you have the mana available. 4 turn clocks with evasion aren't half-bad. Don't discount them just because they're aimed at Timmy.
Rith saw play because it was capable of producing a bunch of annoying threats that were difficult to remove outside of Wrath effects, generally guaranteeing some sort of two- to three-turn clock regardless of whether or not Rith lived to tell the tale. Teneb does a much worse job of that, but can still maneuver you into a winning position if he connects once and there's anything half-decent to reanimate.

Allow me to clear the air: Dragon cycle = good casual, lame T2 constructed. Waaayyy to unreliable. He has to get out, he has to connect, he costs 3524142563645 mana, he dies to spot removal on the off chance he gets reanimated. Did I mention he's unreliable?
What obscene fatties seen have seen play in T2?
Keiga, Meloku, Angel of Despair, SSS, Akroma, Koko, Yosei. Why? Because they all do something besides attack. Keiga, Koko, and Yosei had awesome "goin-to-the-yard" abilities. And Meloku was basically unstopable if you got to untap with him (not to mention you had counter backups). Finally SSS and Akroma are basically just unkillable outside of Wrath, and Angel was it least a Vindicate on a 5/5 flier that it least nuked something before it was promptly put down.
Don't get me wrong, he's a great casual card, and you could sure build a deck around him... and with a god draw you could really ruin someone's day. But this thing relies on graveyards to even compare to any other decent flying fatty with an ability.
this will be the guy that gets decks built around it Pair him with things with comes into play effects and echo (so you can let them die). Now that I think about it there might have been alot more deck building possibilities for this guy if his mechanic was on a smaller chassis.

Me likey to break tings. Currently playing
Extended: RUG Snake Tempo
Legacy: Goblins, and Elves
Standard: Air Force 1, Something that looks alot like soggy pickles.
The Pilferer is a decent finisher with the utility of Ink-Eyes but with evasion. So methinks it an improvement...

Sets in Progress:
Genesis Complete!!! 306/306
(Land centered mechanics Affinity for lands; Synergy with lands (Affinity for activated abilities)
(Extended-ish Power level) PM me if you are interested
Awakening ?/180: Features Domain, with more land comes more mastery over the elements. Channel and Growth are expanded making landcasting more interesting.
it's tricky and allows one hit to possibly turn into many powerful hits! you're gonna be taking the best card from ANY graveyard. it'll be so great to be doing that. what's this? you had an akroma you were planning on ressurecting? hmm.. I'll borrow that!
i somehow expect a dragonstorm reanimation deck... in R/B of course... seething song tirual of flame lotus bloom dragstorm then diff dragons plus graveyard recursion for cheap especially the 1 mana black creature to hand spell
Holy crap, what did you say? PUNCTUATION is your friend.
I really like this dragon, but then again it is a dragon.(look at sig.) I'm really going to like a new set of Invasion Dragons to collect.
As far as the abilities go, meh, if they hit for six unblocked and alive, then it did its job and you shouldn't "need" the other abilities. Unless you are playing against a life deck, and then again, another creature probably won't help much. Dromar and Nicol Bolas, now those are abilities to control the game.

None will see play anyway, not in an environment with Akroma(times two) and Hellkite.

You do mean recent T2, right? Because if not, Rith, Dromar, Spiritmonger, Verdant Force, and Spirit of the Night would like to have words with you.

Yes, I mean recent. Hell if we're going that far back we might as well discuss Nightmare, Shiv Dragon, and Mahamoti Dijinn.
