But he's got a point. Using congregation at dawn, you can set up a pretty lethal order with this guy (with Autochthon Wurm, he's a 13/19 attacker). It also helps find him.

Its funny actually that since creatures with bloodthirst naturally have a low power and toughness that this card actually is worse when played in a standard gruul deck. I think you will find that another bloodthirst enabler or some extra burn would be a much greater asset.
If you really want to abuse this guy I recommend trying to abuse him with top trick and Phyrexian Dreadnought since you can attack with him then after combat if he happened to get huge you can exchange him for a more reliable 12/12 guy that has trample to boot.
Excellent with Divining Top and Congregation at Dawn.
Or maybe, uber-excellent with an extra attack.
Maybe a deck:
4 Autochthon Wurm
4 Bioplasm
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Congregation of Dawn
2 Fists of Ironwood
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Loxodon Hierarch
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Watchwolf
This is a decent starting point.
Remember that you're running creature tutors, and that you don't want to draw AutoWurm. -2 of them.
Fists of Ironwood accomplishes very little for you in the deck other than to grant trample, which Gruul War Plow does better. -2 of these, too.
Elves and Birds in the same deck that doesn't need a ton of mana acceleration is asking for flood. -4 of these.
You want to finish the game in a lethal attack during the midgame, so skipping past the early game as fast as possible is a good idea. You also want a few ways to improve your draws, as well as give yourself as many reasons as possible to use the Top. You also need some more 2-drops. +4 STEs
You also want as much damage as possible to get to your opponent. Blockers should be irrelevant. +4 Gruul War Plow.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
i can see it getting play. gruul is essentailly a lot of really expensive big creatures, just what this thing wants to see. plus, hes a 4/4 for five mana with a pumpable ability. streetbreaker worm is a 5/4 for five with no abilities, so i feel it has enough to see play.

Streetbreaker Wurm is actually a 6/4, and it's unlikely to be considered constructed playable even then.
5cc creatures have to win games to be played. Bioplasm could win games, but it would have to be given trample or some other form of evasion, and it would need some kind of topdeck manipulation.
This won't see play in any standard Gruul deck. All their creatures are better than this for an aggressive deck.

I agree, and am honestly a little surprised at the rest of this thread.
As someone said, it doesn't play well with most Gruul and their low-printed power/toughness. It makes a decent casual Selesnya deck, as someone point out above. My addition would be a splash of Red for Killer Instinct. Both love having fatties in the library and both benefit from tutors. Stick to big cards for cheap mana (Rumbling Slum, Loxodon Hierarch) and you have a pretty decent plan. I agree the plow fits, and even better if you have a chance at activating it!
I would like to make it known that my girlfriend finally managed to smack me with an Autotcthon Wurm-enabled Bioplasm with trample. It took about 20 games but it happened.
My guess is... don't count on seeing it, it's not worth it.
and what if you put it in a deck that also used Killer Instinct, with Congregation at Dawn and Sensei's Divining Top for deck manipulation? Reclaim and Golgari Thug might work too, and Greater Good always seems to make these kinds of decks better. All of those are even standard legal... probably not a tier 1 deck, but definitely a very fun casual deck to play!

And here I thought Y had gone the way of the dodo after that whole XYR Fireball fiasco...
(I don't see a better way to write the rules text though so I have no issues with their wording choice.)

Use congretion to fetch Bioplasm, then, lets say Shinen of lifes roar, then autochthon wurm.
That way, you can play it, then on the next turn, draw shinen, use it on some other critter, and swing for 13.
