What we're doing here is akin to taking the text of Moby Dick, locating specific words therein, rearranging them to create a passage from Fight Club, and concluding from this evidence that Tyler Durden is based on Ahab.
You know ... there are some ideas that look extremely clever and cool while they are still brooding in someone's head, but when actually implemented, they turn up rather lame. This is one of those.

Do people forget that the Izzet, flavorfully, are about "fun" and "craziness"? This is really a fun flavor text, and it's one of the best I've seen in years.
This is got to be one of the best peices of flavor text as it fits the Izzet Guild perfectly, as well as being cute, funny, and quite to the Point (litterally ;).)
It fits well in the text box, and it makes the Mathmatical side of the Izzet splash perfectly with their idea to "broaden" their minds with whacky ideas. It's awesome! Other people just don't like the jankiness of whacky blue artificers casting crazy burn spells! That's basically what the Izzet are about.

At first I really liked it, but upon further review, I have to agree with this sentiment.
Amen. Yeah, I know some of you don't like this kind of stuff, but I absolutely adore this flavor text. I think the Izzet have actually awakened my latent inner Vorthos, and I never thought I'd say that.

Karma doesn't exist. You can't depend on it. If you count on it for justice or catharsis, you will find that you have placed your emotions on very unstable ground; and you will either repeat your disappointment in society over and over, or you will engage in a persistent delusion to protect yourself from that feeling.
it cant be counted because we have no values for the letters in it..

The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,
the Sage has nothing to lose.
I wouldn't but Niv-Mizzet is a f@#*ing genius and we can't think to understand him completely...
To pull off something like this, wouldn't they have to have the flavour text in mind when naming this dragon for the storyline? (either that or it was a total coincidence that you could write his name like that...however unlikely that may be..)

If you came here expecting a signature, you've just wasted your time.
i find it lame, why would you write your name with flipped letters

Niv in Matrix form.
I'm not too stoked about the flav text but if Wizards wants to have some fun, I love the card. The card feels old school somehow. I would have preferred old school flavor text.
he's gonna be used in type 2 for a while till people realise he costs 6 thats a lot hes not bad but with the sweet ld thats coming out youll never cast it!!!
but the flavor test is pure genious>>>>>
You mean the one that's a Demolish that requires green?
As a R/U (not necessarily Izzet) enthusiast, I have to agree that Niv's flavor text is absolutely awesome.

Hey, you. Yes, you reading this sig. Get off your computer, go find a copy of Skies of Arcadia: Legends and play it. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Belongs in an "un" set but does show the nature of izzt very well, and how they said when they previewed him that he is included in all aspects of the izzt or something(i can not think of the word and too lazy to look at the article)

not it is the coolest flavor ever.
It means both: tap to deal 1 dmg as it is Niv-Mizzet in 1337 when you tap it.

GO IZZET!!
All players discard their hands and their life totals becomes 1.
Draw a Card.
Scoop
Scoop is a colorless spell.
Shuffle all permanents you own, your hand, and your graveyard into your library.
You lose the game.
At first I really liked it, but upon further review, I have to agree with this sentiment.
Not that it's a big mystery or anything, but still.
