Not to mention that goblin kings pump each other, like relentless rats that don't suck! If only the elvish champion was like this when I was playing elves....
Still, this is a rather nice boost in power for these old favorites. And makes a lot of sense too.
Unfortunately I still highly doubt that any competitive deck will run it. It just isn't very good, and all the Goblins it would replace would be better.
ya know this is a good thing, but it's not that good. it should have been this way all along but the 1 creature type ****ed it up... now if you have 2 out they pump each other... whoop de doo.

I would actually try to squeeze one into the main. Thanks to Goblin Matron and Goblin Ringleader, when you want it, you'll find it, and a tutorable Glorious Anthem on a 2/2 body is not a bad thing to have.

just think of it as Ankh (you know... an Ankh) More Pork, Ian. That's how I remember it :tongue2: (without the e, anyway)
That's how to remember my name. Or, you could just read the Discworld Novels by Terry Pratchett. I recommend the second method.:)

...riight.
Think of it: Warchief + King = 1 less, +2/+1, Haste Goblins! We can now play a Reckless One that's at least a 5/4 (3/3 for 3 Goblins, +2/+1 for bonus) on turn three! Extended jumps for joy!
This doesn't really help Goblins in extended that much as you have room for 1 maybe with the new absense of Mogg Fanatic and Mogg Flunkies and the addition of some others.
Here's the problem I see - The only reason this was run in the sideboard was against Engineered Plague. However, now that King also gets the -1/-1 there is no way out when a second Engineered Plague hits the table. Dralnu's Crusade was the other option to combat Plague, and it doesn't care about the number of Plagues in play.
Just think how great he is as a finisher in the mirror. With a Warchief out, you can play Matron for 2, get the King, play the King for 2, then swing for a crapload of unblockable damage. Those 3 Goblins alone are 7 damage. Factor in, say, a Piledriver, and it's 15. Yikes.

Every time I destroy an opponent's creature, I jump on the table, yell "Boo ya, you son of a *****!", rip the card in half, urinate on it, then forcefully shove it down my opponent's throat.
Needless to say, I don't have many players in my playgroup anymore.
Yeah, this only helps the mirror match the turn you pull this stunt.....when your opponents turn comes they get the same benefits, and if it's around 4-6 he's probably going to pack a piledriver. Something tells me this isn't a good choice for the mirror. As a finisher, no doubt, definitly good. But you want this guy to suplly the beats earlier, but I guess you can work around that.....
BTW, I don't, nor have I ever played extended, so I could very well be wrong, yet I do follow what goes on in the extended world, so I felt like throwing in my 2 cents:p

Actually, it wasn't asked as much as it was stated. There's some tough choices to be made before it can be determined if Goblin King will join the ranks of Extended Goblins.
However, since he can now be tutored for, a tough argument can be made for including at least one main deck. He's not so useful that you want him all the time, but if you need him, you can get him. That's pretty convenient. One slot isn't that hard to squeeze in. I think you're going to be seeing him.

Umm...why would you bother playing Goblin King unless you plan on winning THAT turn? You would NEVER play it until you were ready to kill your opponent. With Piledrivers, goblins can generate obscene amounts of damage that's not always that easy to get through in the mirror. By dropping King, your huge piledrivers can actually get through.
there are many better answers to plague than king. king is way to susceptable to creature hate, i would rather splash green and throw naturalizes in my sideboard anyday.

That's right folks...look at the creature type.
I will actually now be main boarding this in my goblin deck, as it adds defense to the plauge and powers up all your other tribal effects.

I hate wizards errataing cards unless those cards don't work under the current rules.
then again that's like thinking "maybe they'll stop soon" when your boat is being circled by 3 great white sharks...
They did state that all the Lords of a specific creature type are going to be of that creature type, soooo
Lord of Atlantis => Merfolk Lord
Elvish Champion => Elf Lord
Zombie Master => Zombie Lord
And from what I understand any other "lord" that affects a specific creature type outside of these has the "Other <creature> have <ability>"

I don't think they'll errata the Lords they're not reprinting.
