-t: Each player creates a colorless artifact token named Banana with "t, Sacrifice this artifact: Add R or G. You gain 2 life."
-Whenever an artifact an opponent controls is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on each
creature you control that's an Ape or Monkey.
-Whenever Kibo attacks, defending player sacrifices an artifact.

I mean, I hope this is real. I know a guy whose Monkey Tribal deck is gonna go ape-sh** for this but on the flip side, the skeptic in me feels like this isn't legit for a whole lot of reasons that my sleep deprived brain can't convey tonight. Perhaps an edit tomorrow?

Mark Rosewater seems to confirm its legitimacy here. Can't tell where it came from though,
I would like to build a combo deck with this card that creates and animates a bunch of bananas for a lethal strike, choreographing the actions to Harry Bellefonte's "Day O" like that scene in Beetlejuice.
So if a lone Banana is your opponent's lone artifact, they sacrifice it for mana in response to Kibo's attack trigger...which is just enough life to offset Kibo's base power. Huh.

Well then all your Monkeys get mad and grow bigger.
Gotta love Jumpstart for giving us some nice tribal lords. I'm still waiting for a skeleton legendary lord, perhaps one that cares about things coming back from the graveyard or if something regenerates.
If you go pure ape/monky with this in an EDH deck you have 8 monkeys and 26 apes (there are more, but those are silver border. Apes may be wrong as there are so many shAPEshifters to sift through on gatherer.) Good thing Changelings exist to fill out the rest of the deck.

yep it’s another situation we’re your probably gonna fill the deck with changelings

these are the only worthy ones I know of.
Gargantuan Gorilla also isn’t the worst in a deck that can support it.
