That Lhurgoyf..... I think it's kinda hard to compare it to Tarmogoyf
I mean, Tarmo was crazy bananas in tempo oriented goodstuff strats.
for example:
T1: fetchland, Thoughtseize hitting anything that's not a sorcery.
T2: Tarmogoyf 3/4... then ride it for the win from there.
this new dude is nowhere near that potential of growth while disrupting opponent on turn 2.
but then, it can be a whole lot larger than Tarmo in a deck that's easier to assemble...
all you really want is a deck with a crapton of creatures with graveyard synergies and you're good to go.
this dude will get to crazy bananas stats, maybe hit for like 5 or 6 on turn 3 or something.
It's certainly powerful in a vacuum.
let's just wait and see what happens.
They both have their places. Where as the other Goyf often just feels like a 4/5 for 2 mana this guy has no cap and is not symmetrical with your opponents stuff. You have to work a little more for this one but the reward is there. His kicker costs are in good colors and he can honestly slot into a mono green deck that just runs bodies

Today Mark talks about how Dominaria United Set Design came about.
We also get a cute little story recap on the Weatherlight crew, and what happened to their ship. There's an ode to Slimefoot there too.

This ship feeds on BLOOD.
There is none, unlses you play Astor, Bearer of Blades
I used to be a demigod, but now I'm an omnimage
there's no crew cost.
it cannot become a creature without the help of other cards.
it will be a creature after 4 of your other creatures die.

Dori, last words (presumably)
[Commander] Rafiq of the Many (Tier 1)
[Commander] Marchesa, the Black Rose (Tier 1)
[Commander] Five Color Artifacts (Tier 2)
It has a mind of its own. Spooooooky.
I assume it's only typed as a vehicle because it's the Weatherlight, doesn't really save any space on the card.
I believe it's also the first vehicle to get a specific creature type (others have only copied them from creature cards).
It's more like a comparison to the original Lhurgoyf from Ice Age.
