Discard two may as well be hexproof. She is brutal. Better hope they print decent sacrifice spells
not exactly they just need atleast 2 land cards in hand.
Fixed that for you
If you're losing two or three spells to deal with Sheoldred, then you're probably not winning the game. It's only not backbreaking if you discard two lands, but having two extra lands in hand after turn 5 isn't going to happen super often.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Seems pretty interesting as a commander. She buffs "destroy target creature" removal by a lot, which is normally very outclassed by "nonland permanent" removal (which mono black doesn't really get), and her built-in protection nerfs opposing targeted removal pretty hard as well.
The reference was to "might as well have hexproof" which has nothing to do with whether a card can be countered anyway.
I agree that ward discard 2 is brutal, and sadly it will be a "gotcha" moment for a lot of players when they realize the creature they discard to pay the ward cost will get reanimated, creating a... 4 for 1?

This is a very brutal card.
They also get a card when Sheoldred dies, so 5 for 1.
I think the actual art is pretty awesome. She's evolved from a spider/scorpion to a freaking giant centipede.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
While this card is potentially fake, WotC has had named art in videos and other media a number of times before that aren't necessarily cards with those names. It could be art of another card, artwork for a poster or some other media, etc. Personally, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse doesn't sound like the name they'd give a praetor; but it could be. Urabrask is the only praetor to date with a card name including a single word epithet in Urabrask the Hidden.
All others, including the newest Urabrask have two-name epithets: (or three including prepositional phrases ;))

Sheoldred is just the upper body part. She can insert into machinery to have a new pair of legs whenever she wants.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Thanks captain obvious. If you are using three cards to kill one creature then you fail hard at magic.
>not playing blue and using a counterspell
I should clarify that I play mostly standard, the format where decent counter spells haven't existed for a decade.

the flavor text said this
it works both ways but the name fits for the flavor text.

Oh lord, I didn't notice that first ability didn't have "another" in it - wow.
Unfun praetor is unfun. But based on past praetor designs, she fits in quite well.

art is incorrect

I could see the Sheoldred, the Apocalypse art being a board wipe or something, too; but it might in fact be the name of the card...who knows?

Uhm...I think you're confusing her with the Borg Queen!
